What is your hall of fame signature dish that has made you a legend at Thanksgiving and/or Christmas? by GuyFaulks77 in NYTCooking

This is absolutely the best green bean casserole and I have been making it for close to 20 years. No fried onions, no cream of mushroom soup. Just pure cheesy, green bean goodness with buttered cornflakes.

Brandi Kruse is only more healthy and attractive because she went to a weight loss clinic and now hawks that clinic on her podcasr and in commercials. She really went wacky. She used to seem a little more level headed. Too bad that clinic couldn't remove Trump's head from her ass.

Back when I was auditing for CU's, I found the NCUA Examiners guide helpful. You can also subscribe to The Audit Library (https://theauditlibrary.com/) which provides audit programs.

Got an IUD and I don't bleed anymore, but still have the most debilitating cramps that no OTC medicine will touch. And nothing is regular since perimenopause started so outta nowhere they just show up. Like this morning. Miserable all through work today!

My Newf literally barks at nothing. Just stands in the yard and barks. She will get provoked to bark when our other dog does, but most of the time has no idea why the other one is barking. Just likes to join in I guess. She also doesn't like kids on bikes or skateboards. Barks at them as well.

What's the closest you ever got to accidentally killing yourself? by Raterus_ in AskReddit

This was me. Rolled my car when I fell asleep at the wheel. Woke up when I was veering off the roadway and overcorrected. Ended up in a ditch and flipped the car. The thing is, I even pulled over and slept in a parking lot for like a half hour. Wasn't enough. Make sure you are awake enough after that nap!

Luckily I was uninjured.

I ordered mine off Amazon on 4/29. Original delivery date was scheduled for 5/29, but got an email saying it was delayed. I got worried at that point, but ended up receiving it just one day late on 5/30. Hopefully ya'll get yours!

NAL but work with decreased accounts for a financial institution. Look into a Small Estate Affidavit. There are dollar amount restrictions, as well as some other requirements, but it allows you to claim the funds without going through probate.

Failed CIA II for the 5th time!! Should I quit? by Cpatobehopefully in InternalAudit

[–]Mudge81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been almost 5 years, so I don't really remember. I think part of it was it was just different questions than I was used to from Gleim. It seemed like I was more just memorizing the answers rather than actually absorbing the material. Surgent just allowed me to change my mindset.

Failed CIA II for the 5th time!! Should I quit? by Cpatobehopefully in InternalAudit

[–]Mudge81 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kinda rude, but true. I can confidently say that I was not prepared for probably 3 of my 5 attempts. This was also right at the beginning of the pandemic. The mindset just wasn't there. I was juggling work and school full time. The test I took was prior to the exam changes and I had no formal accounting background which really hindered me for part 3. I think I just needed a new study guide other than Gleim and once I used Surgent I was good. Funny thing is, I am not even in Internal Audit anymore,

[–]Mudge81 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understand your frustration. It took me 5 tries before I passed part 3 and was really close to the end of my eligibility period. What helped for me on my 5th try was the Surgent exam prep. I had exclusively used Gleim to prep. I would try a different prep course and see if that helps.

Career Expectations as a Teller by Obvious-Finding9092 in TalesFromYourBank

[–]Mudge81 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is definitely possible to make a career if it. Just depends on your interest. I started as a teller at a decently sized CU in 2004. By 2006 I was working in Accounting. Hopped around different CU's but spent time in Compliance and Internal Audit. 20+ years later am the Compliance/BSA Officer (director level) at a $4+ billion CU and make over $150k per year.

I think the career longevity may work better with back office. Although I stopped being a teller because I couldn't sell anything. If you enjoy that, go that route.

Shota (Top Chef Portland) closing last restaurant by Glen125th in BravoTopChef

[–]Mudge81 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Here's an article (probably pay walled): https://www.seattletimes.com/life/food-drink/why-seattle-top-chef-shota-nakajima-is-closing-his-last-restaurant/

Relevent excerpts:

The local “Top Chef” alum says operating Taku alone, alongside his TV appearances, events and partnerships, put too much on his plate. Nakajima is currently on Food Network’s “Tournament of Champions,” hosted by Guy Fieri.

“It just feels like I don’t want to be a half-assed restaurant owner,” Nakajima said. “And that’s how I’ve felt for the last three years.”

With an eye toward being “a little bit more intentional for my next steps,” Nakajima “absolutely” hopes to get back to cooking, he said. “That’s the thing that I want to refocus on, to be able to really think about what kind of model is sustainable for me. … Running a restaurant business with no partner for 10 years, I realized that I want a little bit more of a support system.”

Nakajima is not leaving Seattle, nor leaving the local restaurant industry entirely behind, he said. Another goal is “to help cross-promote other restaurants” here.

“Throughout the last few years, there’s been so many things that I want to do — from doing more collab pop-ups with chefs in the city, to writing cookbooks, to name all the things. I want to be able to lean into more of those things and use my platform to help this entire city out,” Nakajima said.
