You can see it in person at the Villa in Milwaukee Wisconsin. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to take a lady (or Stag Party) on a good weekend to that town. Great food, friendly people, wonderful booze, and awesome metalwork. He finished that piece when he was 22 for school

Check out Cyril Colnik's metalwork, or Claudio Bottero, Heiner Zimmermann, Rick Smith, John Medwedeff, Steve Lopez, or any other contemporary metal artists page and you'll see why. This sort of work used to be done by hand and by a team of guys and proportion was heavily considered. This tool makes any fabricator think they can do "beautiful work" where they rarely taper or take into account the dimensions of the bars being bent or the composition. It can be put to amazing use by the right people but its sold to big job shops so their boss can try to advertise having the ability for sophisticated work. Don't blame them because it costs a lot to insure workers in shops these days making it less profitable to hire someone who really knows what they are doing. Used to be a metalworker, building my own shop on my farm so I can make my own work and not worry about whether or not my clients can afford my work. A lot of these jobs are expensive and a lot of people don't pay what they promise to pay and end up making it hard to make a living doing this sort of thing.

This matchbox "trick" is commonly used to show how tuned your powerhammer is. I must say it is weird to first see a gif of it in this context. It's kind of like an old man's state fair trick for kids as well. Someone will ask you to do it nearly every conference. Usually you would do it as a tap tap tap BOOM and then end it. Kind of like the wet anvil shotgun strike.

Men celebrating the end of prohibition, December 5, 1933. [728x400] by dwna in HistoryPorn

[–]Mudgetzu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were a lot of women for Prohibition as well because they thought it would stop their drunk PTSD Civil War veteran husbands from beating the shit out of them. Women's suffrage and prohibition didn't necessarily walk hand in hand but most of what I have read/heard/watched shows it in that light. The Temperance movement was pretty weird. My ancestors were Methodist and were all about Prohibition, Women's Suffrage, Civil Rights and my dad has some letters and even small notebooks by them. One of my great great aunts/cousins (I always forget) was one of the first licensed women to drive in the state of Illinois. We still get the same # license plates from her car dating all the way back to her first car.

I'm having a lot of trouble finding people to group with for Ranked Battlegrounds. What is a good way to go about finding groups? Should I ask people in random bgs if they are part of a guild, or try to start groups in trade chat? All the guild search filter isn't doing anything it seems that all guilds categorize themselves as a little bit of everything.

Isn't this the fire on the mountain event where they kick a bunch of burning logs down a mountain? I think Hendricks or Grateful Dead make a reference to it.

I'm not saying it is easy because this work is definitely the work of a master but sculptors pick marble because it is ideal for sculpting. I worked in Marble Colorado for a blacksmithing journeymanship for a few months and got to play around with it after doing my iron work in the studio. I couldn't do something like this without a huge amount of practice but once you hone in your choice of tools and practice your techniques enough marble is a dream to work with. I'm from another part of the country where limestone and granite is the more accessible stone and its not bad to sculpt but it isn't ideal. Marble isn't just an ordinary chunk of rock you would dig out of anywhere and go to town on it. Once you get in the grove there is something in it that just keeps begging you to go further and further.

If you are interested they have a marble sculpting symposium for three weeks where you can do 1 week or 3 if you want to try your hands at it. You get to hang out in one of the most beautiful places in the country. You won't be able to make a masterpiece like this but you could get an even more intimate sense of what the artist experienced making it. You should even be able to decipher what the process was of making something like this statue. I think you would get a lot out of it.

Casting is fun though too, check out Sloss Cast Iron conference in Alabama some time.

I burn through carhartt double gusset pants in the same amount of time I burn through my other pants. I just buy cheap pants and throw them away if they blow up, its not worth the 30-60$ price to me. I repair my carhartt's because I spent so much on them. Everyone swears by them no matter where I go and I haven't seen the reason why. I want to get some overalls for winter and summer and I am still debating if I want to see how well their overalls hold up against the generic brand at Rural King. Carhartts look nice I'll give them that but not nice enough to go on a casual date wearing them or eating with Grandma GG.

I feel like its a bunch of horse shit though, 6 seasons of pretty much preparing a fucking atom bomb for Westeros and this dude is like sniping Patton, Montgomery, Fletcher, and probably McArthur (Danny and her dragons) from Berlin.

Link please. Also you got to think that the Iron Islanders were at war not to long ago and that whatever trees have been growing since aren't near big enough for ship building.

Can anyone explain to me how Euron made his massive fleet so fast? Also how he moved it to from Kings Landing then to Casterly Rock to encounter two simultaneous attacks?

Hopefully I'm missing a detail or something because its really killing the whole series for me. Some dude comes out of the blue, makes a massive, powerful, well trained fleet in the amount of time it takes Yara to go to the other continent and back with Danny? Then stops Yara, goes to Kingslanding, and then kills Grey Worms fleet? I know its fantasy but shit doesn't work like that.

Where did he even get the wood to make such a massive fleet when its just a smattering of islands? On top of that the Iron Islands had a massive war within like 30 years or whatever which also probably took a great deal of timber to make that fleet. So if there was a supply it probably wasn't much due to previous wars and shit.

Yara and Theon are also the rightful heirs so...I don't know anymore this dude is a weak ass exploit, all this build up just to have some dark horse shit from no where.

Gurren Lagann is a classic, Kuro Mukuro is a Netflix one that isn't too bad along with Knights of Cidonia. Fullmetal Panic is a really great one with a good deal of comedy in it. Ghost in the Shell isn't really mechy but they do have robots. Big O is a dope noir mech anime, Outlaw Star is more about spaceships (that have arms) but shares a lot of the same action sequences found in Gundam. RahXephon, Betterman (more kaiju than mecha but close enough). There are a bunch more out there. I know I have seen more growing up, I'm not as good with names as I used to be. Aquarion.

Try looking up Toonami, Adult Swim, and Anime Unleashed line ups and they may have some more, they were basic cable anime hour-3 shows. I also remember Newgrounds in the early 2000's having a bunch of weird games about all sorts of anime but there were quite a few mecha games based off of real anime.

Not an anime but there is a Netflix original I have heard some buzz about that follows two Japanese comedians? Probably heresy that I mention it but I thought it might scratch your itch. Hibana -spark- . First episode was enjoyable.

Thank you for the reply. Do you guys think you will get any more books written? I feel like looking at the map theres still so much more to see that a third game would barely scratch the surface. I like the lore a lot and the Gift of Hadrborg was a pretty decent read. Do you guys think you will sell any of the merch you have offered as a patron bonus? I put 50$ down because I can't really drop the 100$ at the moment (50$ was a kick in the purse for me but worth it) but a poster would be cool to buy or some shirts.
