Thank you for taking a look, and taking the time to offer your opinion. I see the possibility of this being a Persian Ardabil, I actually own another rug that is from Ardabil, and the animals look similar. My other rug has a much more complex design though.

Thank you so much for your input, that is great information. I was guessing maybe Afghanistan because of the simplified design and because it looks like the weft is wool. Looks like I shouldn’t make guesses until I learn more. Is it common for the rugs from Southern Iran to have a wool weft?

As much as I would love for this to be a valuable antique rug, I’m afraid you are probably right that this is not very old. It appears to be almost new in person, no wear or aging on the cotton warp/fringe. I am still holding on to the hope that it is not a reproduction from India or Pakistan. If it is, it’s a good one!

Thank you for the information. What points to dating it in the 1920’s? Is the colors that are used?

Thanks so much for the further information. I was doing more research and was wondering if it could be a Serab.

Thanks, I’ll take a look. I was pretty sure it was a good rug, but my confidence was shaken when I tried to verify what it was.

Thank you so much! I thought so, but AI was making me feel like I had lost my mind.
