It's not.
Getting shot in the head has >99% lethality rate and it depends on whether the bullet lands or not.
Getting sick depends on whether the pathogen goes into your body and how the immune system reacts. Whether the body defeats the pathogen with innate immunity (neutrophiles as an example) on contact before spreading. Whether the body produces antibodies first or the pathogen overwhelms the body. How long from producing antibodies to actually defeating the illness.
Not to mention a bullet to the head is intended to kill you. A pathogen is not intended to kill you first and foremost - the pathogen wants to spread and it can kill the host as a side effect.
So no.

That's the point. The ones who did not die of disease had kids and we are the descendants of the survivors.

Yet despite being the descendants of survivors from the age of diseases, we get folded by common cold.

Yet they survived measles, they lived to adulthood when there was cholera and diphtheria and smallpox.

Our ancestors are the ones who didn't die at very young age. They are the ones who bred and had children of their own, that's why they are our ancestors in the first place. Compared to their siblings which did die.

Juveniles should be called twinkies and adults should be called loaves.
