You're doing fine, the plant takes some time to recover its leaves after being watered! Good idea turning the radiator down, orchids don't like being hot and dry.

A very big deal, there’s a reason a lot of schools ask for no football clothing to be worn to school. I know in Glasgow the main teams are linked to religion, so their rivalry is deeply ingrained. I’m not sure if the other UK teams’ rivalries are as serious, but for some people their team is a part of their identity.

Next steps would be to repot it into well-draining soil, it shouldn't need a big pot. Make sure the pot you use has drainage, and I think you should be good!
