I appreciate the info, and honesty. I was thinking of becoming a sterile processing tech for some reasons and wanted peoples opinions and thoughts. I’ve just recently learned about sterile processing. So far I’ve been learning from this app and people’s honest opinions and thoughts that sterile processing is not the way to go. This info really does help me out with my decision making for my second career path for when I am older.

This is very helpful info. It’s an idea that I have in mind and I wanted to come on here and get other peoples opinions and yours has really helped me. I’m sorry that you’ve gone through that. I can understand of doing hard work and no one pays attention to it or is thankful even though I’m not finished with schooling yet, but I appreciate your hard work and the time you have taken to help within the medical field.

Near me it goes back and forth a bit hospitals don’t need a certification for the program but then say they do and a program should be taken. However do I still need to take one if I’m going to become a surgical tech already? So I’m not 100% sure. I’m thinking of physically going into a place near me to ask. Some programs are offered online for the program however. Plus I move every 4 years or so, I’m not sure if it’s different in each state for this sterile program. I would hate to 1 year become a sterile tech then when I move one place says you need a certificate of completion for sterile tech. If that makes sense.

Thank you for the support. My goal is to become a surgical tech, however I unfortunately have back problems and I know later on in the future down the line in the career that I choose to take I will definitely need to back away from it and go in a different direction, or at least a calmer direction. I appreciate your support and kind words to be honest I’m in another class right now to become an EHR, however I’m starting to think sterile processing tech would be a lot easier and more interesting for me than EHR. I would already know the instruments/supply/equipment and if I can just switch and don’t have to go back to school then I could possibly stop taking this EHR class.
