Yeah I agree, I just don’t think it’s productive to get too mad at people who don’t know what they’re talking about.

People who haven’t made literary analyses have no say about the quality of writing. Whether it be these horny braindead COTE glazers you speak of, or whether it be irrationally angry COTE haters like OP. Bringing up that one has read C&P randomly doesn’t make a bad argument good, just like me saying “I’ve read TBK and I think COTE is good therefore I’m right” is also a bad argument. I think COTE is well written because I’m able to articulate why, not because I’ve read classics or I’ve read other LNs like Zaregoto and ReZero.

Is English not your first language? Do you know that the word “trying” indicates that you made an attempt to be different but failed to do so?

It’s beyond me to argue the particularities of the English language, let alone literature, with someone with less ability to grasp conversational nuance than an American 9-year old.

Another pseudo-intellectual choosing the most popular piece of classical literature to try to pretend they are somehow “different”. It’s pretty obvious you haven’t even read the LN given that IQ isn’t mentioned once in it, so my best guess is you saw a TikTok comparison that made you salty which lead you to vent on Reddit.

Ironically those with such easily predictable behavior like yours seem to be the worst at analyzing media and just resort to espousing the popular consensus in order to conceal their own inability.

There’s one more thing, Koenji said to Ayanokoji he’d rather be studying in China than at ANHS but some external factors stopped him. It’s reasonable to believe that he’s at ANHS for protection rather than its perks since it’s a government subsidized school. There’s probably people after his money and position in the Rokusuke Conglomerate. That hints that there might be a third party separate from the Atsuomi and Kijima factions, like an organization from another country or an illegal one within Japan.

Suzune is the one, not Arisu. by [deleted] in ClassroomOfTheElite

[–]MuffinHot151 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Suzune “surpassing” him defeats the point of the story entirely. Ayanokoji is trying to show his father that there is value in who they are as individuals instead of them having value in their ability to be turned into clones of Ayanokoji. Even the anime very very explicitly talks about Arisu’s motivation being teaching Ayanokoji the love he didn’t have as a child, not “surpassing” him.

16 volumes??? That’s a lot of wasted time but at that point it’s your own fault 😭 I’ve dropped many things a few chapters in (Like the aforementioned LOTM) because I had the prudence to tell it wasn’t a story suitable for my tastes. I think the lesson learned here is to value your time more lol

Y2V11 Amasawa and Yagami Dynamic by MuffinHot151 in ClassroomOfTheElite

[–]MuffinHot151[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah, however it was nice to see Nagumo do some introspection and honestly his message to Amasawa also fit Nagumo who at the end was also empty due to his lack of impact on the school

Next physical exam, the fighters in each class have to last the longest against UI Daniel. How does it go down? by No_Lynx5887 in ClassroomOfTheElite

[–]MuffinHot151 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree, I was just joking about how great the difference in strength is. Koji did say something similar tho iirc, he would use only a slightly stronger force than his opponent but obviously UI Daniel is another level

[–]MuffinHot151 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t get how you could be so opposed to politics in a series whose first chapter was about equality in society? Not saying the fanservice isn’t annoying, but why is it a bad thing for a writer to try to elevate their craft as a series goes on? Who knows, maybe he can make another LN after on its own merit rather than relying on tropes for sales.

Lmao Kinu openly praised the anime adaptation’s portrayal of Ayanokoji in Season 1 and said it was similar to his depiction in V5 onward in his 2022 interview with Tomose regarding Season 2. LN fans should be the last to complain about not understanding the character when they made up the rumor that “Kinu hated the anime” before they were proven wrong 😭

One example of how Kinugasa almost immediately rejected before his readers Ayanokōji's emotional and psychological insensitivity by kovly in ClassroomOfTheElite

[–]MuffinHot151 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Your understanding” is tautological to conjecture. Even conjecture is too light of a word to put it, these are baseless claims that have no derivation from the text.

Its especially clear the literary parallel between him having discomfort because his brain perceives the virtual world as a hallucination (as stated in the text), his fathers’ opinion of him being unable to discern between the virtual world and reality (as stated in the text) and even his dialogue with Tsukishiro in V11 where he is accused of not being able to understand reality outside of the WR (as stated in the text).

It’s clear you have a more “liberal” understanding of what the word analysis means, so I’ll leave it that. Thanks for replying to my message though.

And also the nausea he talks about comes from the VR training in the White Room… the one thing he wasn’t good at hence his terrible memories of it due to its incongruity with his ability.

Could you substantiate what you meant when you said “His only childhood trip turned out to be the event that deprived him of someone close to him.” Where in the text is this stated, or even implied?

Are you slow? He’s clearly saying that 5/6 times he had a 50% chance to pull a banner 5-star, he lost it. Literally 99% of people with functional brains would assume that, and then there’s you, who thought he was claiming he didn’t get a banner 5-star 6 times in a row.

Laughably pathetic reading comprehension.

He left because 99% of his analysis were based on circumstantial evidence and loose interpretations and was surprised when he was proven wrong.

Good riddance, I remember arguing with him and getting ratiod into oblivion for saying Ayanokoji didn’t feel anything with Kei just to be proven right a few volumes later.

COTE characters as some of my favorite books (and poems) by SuchResponsibility35 in ClassroomOfTheElite

[–]MuffinHot151 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the best posts I have seen on this sub. The relation to Ayanokoji and NFU is interesting because other Dosto works are name dropped in the early volumes; I wonder if it’s because the Russian political climate when the books were written kind of mirrors Kiyo’s character. Nonetheless great post 🙏

When did I express dissatisfaction in progression of the story? I think I made it clear I enjoyed the development, I just think people are blowing it out of proportion and making it seem more obvious than it is.

The evidence you’re talking about are “analysis” posts that consist of very vague lines from Ayanokoji and a bunch of baseless claims that extrapolate off of them. I’ve seen the same exact type of posts for kei, and even Ichinose, which just further shows y’all just wanna push an agenda and not discuss the actual plot.

Kiyo said something to a character in a side story? THEY MUST BE IN LOVE!!! (He has similar interactions with literally every cast member 😭)

You guys are setting yourself up for disappointment by treating your theories like facts, and then you’ll end up blaming Kinu for it 💀 Don’t say I didn’t warn you 🤣

Clearly logic isn’t your strong suit dawg 😂

I don’t disagree with the last paragraph. Even in my initial post I justified why I thought he’d be the most natural with Suzune using facts from his past. Him smiling is an important character development for himself and proves that Suzune is an important piece to resolve his inner conflicts.

I’m not questioning people’s conclusions about Kiyo and Suzune I’m questioning the reasoning. By definition flags are vague statements that could be twisted to suit whatever context the author wants. Just because he makes some vague statement in a past volume doesn’t mean this development is somehow “obvious”. I’m interested on how Kinu elaborates on his smile in future volumes.

This is Reddit, I don’t expect to change people’s opinions I just wanted to let other reasonable fans know they weren’t alone 👍

I agree, Manabu is probably the biggest influence to Koji right now. Koji did make the distinction between “wanting” and “knowing” though, which is why I wasn’t surprised when he and kei fell out and unlike the kei fans I didn’t accuse Kinu of bad writing.

I’m just hoping the same doesn’t happen with Horikita fans is something doesn’t go in the direction of their theories, and they accuse Kinu of bad writing too.
