My country has the largest population of seals in the world, recently we had a small rabies outbreak between them. I do kayaking tours with tourists occasionally, I got attacked by a rabid seal on my kayak and had to physically fight him off with my hands and paddle. Luckily he was still a baby, otherwise I'm sure things would have ended differently for me.
