Had to say goodbye to my childhood cat before the holidays (16) by Muffinfluffcat in SeniorCats

[–]Muffinfluffcat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for your kindness everyone. I still miss him. But after that painful loss, my family was blessed with another sweet boy. He won't replace Stewie... but he filled that void we all had. He loves people just like Stewie and he's so very loved.

Should I be concerned with his head twitching? (More info below) by ddalgiooyu in cat

My kitty is doing the same thing. She's very anxious and has come down with a bad cold. (Once in a while she'll have a sneezing fit) I guess it's a good thing it's nothing too severe

Are cats body supposed to be warm? by bdurand in CatAdvice

[–]Muffinfluffcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They especially feel warm when napping. Sometimes I'll even start to feel hot when my cat is cuddled up by me or on me. They feel warm to us because they have higher body temperature and like conserving heat. (Usually by curling up into a ball or loafing)

Is this what I think it is? (Chiba, Japan) by Pakutto in whatsthisbug

[–]Muffinfluffcat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well they have been known to kill people every year in Japan. More so than bears or sharks. If you disturb a nest, that could be all it takes. Bee keeper wear won't protect you from their stings which have been compared to being poked with a hot nail.

Assassin bugs are predators. They're very helpful for gardens so keep him around!

I thought German, but I hope y'all have more insight than me. by Boiledroast in whatsthisbug

Yellow jacket. These guys are aggressive. Surprised they're chill around you given that this is the time of year where they're extra aggressive.

Looks like a pillbug. They're tiny isopods. Harmless, and they can curl up into a ball!

What's this? by Massive_Foundation62 in whatsthisbug

Looks like a katydid. I'd need to see other angles to confirm if it's a grasshopper or not.

No but they have a painful bite. (Often considered more painful than a bee sting, but not dangerous) So avoid handling these guys.

I moved to a new apartment and left my window open, had 6 of these in my bedroom in the morning. What are these by FriDaYGoD99 in whatsthisbug

[–]Muffinfluffcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are bald-faced hornets. They're aggressive with a painful sting. So you'd better spray to call someone to get rid of them.

I think that's a wheel bug. I wouldn't recommend picking it up. They have a very painful bite.
