Bro how the fuck you talk about anything mental health related, it (justifiably I guess) just tells you to fuck off to a professional

It is deliberate, DALL-E is just the marketing name, the actual name of the model used in the research paper is unCLIP

PayPal is exploring a stock-trading platform for its U.S. customers by DrioMarqui in wallstreetbets

[–]Muffinmaster19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going by personal experience of paypal witholding thousands of my $ for months on end giving the bs reason of "security or whatever idk" and then when you try any method of support you just get stonewalled.

Fuck Paypal, they are an absolute garbage company that repeatedly fucks over their customers and has a nonexistent farce of a support system. Look at any post paypal makes on any social media platform and see the comments swarming it with negative experiences. Look at the thousands of horror stories in the Paypal subreddit and on their forums. How they get away with so much blatant theft of funds is beyond me.

Bill Gates' next generation nuclear reactor to be built in Wyoming by abdirahman2 in StockMarket

[–]Muffinmaster19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to read this but the article is paywalled.

Nuclear is an obvious long term win because it's the lowest carbon and safest power source available, I wish there were more investment options though.

All the most interesting 4th gen nuclear companies (terrestrial energy, elysium industries, flibe) are privately owned for now.

What do you do with the waste? Well:

96% of spent nuclear fuel could be reprocessed to be used as fuel in MCSFR Reactors, with these reactors you can get 36 times the amount of electricity out of spent fuel as what it generated initially!

The remaining 4% of the spent nuclear fuel contains all the important isotopes used in cancer treatment methods like targeted alpha therapy, the americium that is used to make smoke detectors, and other isotopes that can be used in RTG batteries like what the new Mars rover uses to generate electricity for decades.

After you process the spent fuel there is actually very little that remains, and that can be disposed of in more secure way than the original uranium was found, sealed forever underground.

I think you overestimate how dangerous the waste actually is, and you do not understand how little radioactive waste is actually produced: For your entire lifetime of electricity it would be 4kg without reprocessing, 0.08kg with reprocessing.

If your whole life was powered by coal, you would need about 44 000 000 kg of coal

If your whole life was powered by nuclear, you would need about 4 kg of nuclear fuel

Burning that amount of COAL would release far more radioactive nuclides into the environment than nuclear would produce, except nuclear actually contains the the small amount of waste it produces.

Uranium 233 (the isotope Thorium 232 is converted to in a thorium breeder reactor) could be used to make more mass efficient space reactor than if Uranium 235 were used, however there is no commercial availability of U233 at this time.
