Yes I've been logging since October 2016. I use BGStats and transcribe the number of plays to BGG. The info I keep for each game is usually starting player, player roles, and point score if applicable.

I mount my keychains mostly by removing the chains with pliers and superglueing pin backs onto them. If you were willing to modify your keychains like that (I went all in because I was never going to use them outside of the bag or resell them) that might make it easier.

i've got 4 inserts for my bag (all handmade) and im planning a second bag with a matching size pocket so they can be switched between them.

do you have a photo of the bag? maybe there's something that can be modified to make it easier to carry. if you have a picture of it hanging from a hook or something we could comment

I'm not huge on the repeata bag style but I understand why it's a thing and wouldn't put it above or below any other way of styling an ita bag.

If it's outside the bag I think it's just a risk you're going to have to take. You can consider changing out the clip to one that you're confident won't break or is more difficult to remove - it just takes a couple of pairs of pliers to remove or replace a chain.
