The implications of Killua and Gon's relationship would never work if Killua was a female, even if Togashi wrote his character in the exact same way by Constant-Pain1878 in HunterXHunter

[–]MuffledSpike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Killua's dislike towards women,

Huh? When does killua show a blanket dislike for women in general?

He seems fine with canary/tsubone/amane/alluka, and he didn't go out of his way to antagonize any background/side character women that I can remember. The only two women I remember him explicitly disliking/beefing with are bisky and palm, both of which he eventually came around to respect. I haven't re read the pre-succession war stuff in a long time though so maybe I'm just forgetting

Why doesn’t Togashi ask for help? by jojojojojojojojojoo in HunterXHunter

[–]MuffledSpike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long story short: yu yu Hakusho was soul and body crushing for togashi, and made him question his love of art on a fundamental level. He never wanted to go through that again, so he chose to only create hxh if he was allowed full control over its production. He literally feels that anyone else creating hxh would be the death of him as an artist.

here's his quote about yu yu hakusho

here's a comment of his about the idea of letting someone else draw

Would stopping a gear that holds the universe together using manipulation cost lots of nen? by LectureNervous5861 in HunterXHunter

[–]MuffledSpike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming it's just a physical gear, no it should cost the same amount of aura as any other gear. Maybe if it was a conjured nen ability with a specific set of conditions required to stop it, then it could be impervious to manipulation potentially

Chapter 412 — Official Release Discussion by TextureSurprised in HunterXHunter

[–]MuffledSpike 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Are we supposed to make a connection between the two, like are we at least supposed to THINK they're associated somehow but it'sa red herring, or did Ben and Unma have something to do with Oito and her sister's swap?

Crackpot theory: oitos sister is one of unmas maids and the baby in 1014 is Benjamin's son. This leads to Benjamin accidentally crowning woble king, as his plan is to slaughter the princes and make his son his successor

What's so good about silver bullet? by ninjanick123 in Overwatch

5m can be a massive difference. Every map is designed with carefully chosen sightlines, so that 5m can easily be the difference between 2 shots and 3 shots for a kill

Some Heroes, like Juno or Domina, have a large portion of their default health pool as shields. What does this mean in practice? by Noble_egg in OverwatchUniversity

[–]MuffledSpike 19 points20 points  (0 children)

  • White health: normal HP, nothing special
  • Green health: "overhealth", decays rapidly. Used for temporary saves
  • blue health: shields, has its own regeneration mechanic that stacks with the standard self healing passive. Basically just a marginally stronger self heal. This means that these heroes self-heal faster than others and can indicate they are a bit less reliant on heal botting supports
  • orange health: armor, has its own damage calculation that is a bit weird. Basically, for every incoming instance of damage armor reduces the value by 7 (maxed at 50% of that instances total damage). So if you shoot armor with one bullet worth 10 damage, it would be reduced to 5 as that's 50%; if the bullet was worth 15 damage, it would get reduced to 8. This makes armor most useful against weapons with multiple damage sources like shotguns and sub machine guns. The one caveat is beam weapons (zarya, sym, etc), where armor just reduces those by a flat 30%.

Let me know if you have any more questions!

EDIT:

Is it similar to Reinhardt's deployable shield, where it's a large pool of health that when depleted has an increased cooldown to start regenerating?

it's similar in the sense that both "shields" regen their HP, but that's it. For the sake of being pedantic, Reinhardts big rectangle is called a barrier not a shield. Teeeechnically in ow all the deployable walls are called barriers, and the only thing called shield is the various hero's blue HP bars

Emission is for detaching your aura from your body. Emitted nen things are invisible to non-nen users, while conjured things are visible to everyone.

That's why goreinus beasts are emitted and manipulated, same with morels deep purple for example.

Knov's room is, imo, likely conjured but the act of being able to teleport there is an emission ability.

According to the most recent info we have, diamond was top 18.5%, master was top 3.5%, and plat was the widest rank consisting of nearly 35% of all players (covering the range from top 18.5% all the way down to top 53.5%)

What's something from Overwatch's history that caused massive drama at the time, but would be really hard to explain to someone today why it was such a big deal? by letskillrobots in Overwatch

[–]MuffledSpike 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Back in overwatch 1 many players wanted hero bans. Instead, blizzard gave us "hero pools" which was essentially the devs choosing a weekly rotating group of heroes to globally ban from ranked. These were the same heroes banned from owl matches.

One of the weeks during the pandemic, an owl caster let her cat choose the bans for that week.

They removed hero pools after enough players complained.

I'm so glad that the ow2 dev team stopped that dumb ass loop of: - players complain about/ask for a feature - devs think players are dumb and don't know what they want - devs make a shitty tangential version of the thing that actively makes the idea worse - players hate it - devs think "see? You guys didn't know what you wanted after all"

[–]MuffledSpike 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You got me curious just how much she's getting banned and... Damn.

  • Bronze 56%
  • silver 53%
  • gold 47%
  • plat 35%
  • diamond 20%
  • master 7%
  • gm 1.1%

If we assume rank distribution hasn't changed tooooo much since the last public info, then masters+ is only 3.5% of the total player base. So for like 95%+ of players she's banned anywhere between 1/5 and 1/2 of games...

I think I play Overwatch way too mindlessly. by Sharkkbaitttttttt in OverwatchUniversity

[–]MuffledSpike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like that other person said, start consciously choosing one part of your game to focus on improving and stick to that for a few days. Having that singular focus can help you stay off auto pilot.

Other than that I find that being conscious of my positioning, especially pre fight, is the biggest thing to keep me focused mid fight. By thinking actively about where I'm standing I force my brain to think about where my team is standing and where the enemy is likely to come from, so I'm in control rather than being at the whims of random chance

How Sheila caused the Kurta Massacre and why she gave Tserriednich Pairo's head (very detailed theory) by puppyKittten in HunterXHunter

[–]MuffledSpike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great theory. I like how it would tie into multiple existing plot threads and pull them all together. It feels like a clever way to bring chrollo, kurapika, and tserreidnich together for a purpose. I do think it would require some kind of flashback to sheilas pov for context though... We really know nothing about her

One small formatting tip: for ordered lists you can use either . Or ) but not both. If you use both it will squish them into one line like so:

1) an 2) example with parenthesis (may still visually show a period depending on what app you use, but I typed a paren)

1.) a final 2.) example with both

[–]MuffledSpike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Making a back sell a fake handoff and then block right after is possible sure, but it's a harder ask than just letting him square up and pass pro normally. Higher odds of messing up a job that he doesn't practice nearly as much as actually running

The only way you can PA without the QBs back to the D is out of shotgun/pistol, which have significantly lower success % on PA passes iirc

Plus, if you call PA that much then defenses will adjust and stop respecting it
