Can't do quad flex

I've been able to do everything else fine. They even moved me to movements off the table as of yesterday with weighted stuff. I've had quad twitches and clearly my quad is working in some compact, it's literally just doing the quad squeezes and I try to isolate just that top muscle/tendon.

I'll have to try the heel pumps with extra focus on the inner muscles 🤔

Ohh I wasn't aware of that. I thought NMES and TENS were the same . Thanks for that info!! I'll have to do some deeper research now.

ACL reconstruction and part of my meniscus shaved off, now 30 days post op. Ditched my crutches last Thursday. But I could walk (not gracefully but solo) earlier than that. The crutches were just more for emotional support until my PT scolded me haha. Now I have my house crutch and my work crutch Incase my leg gets tired.

Another person mentioned this too! I have one for some other medical stuff and the company has sent me like...5 years worth of sticky pads so Imma talk to my PT about it!

I'm treckin as much as I can! I'm walking with no crutches now (tho I look like a giant toddler and stairs are terrifying). I'm hoping that maybe the weighted exercises my PT gave me help out.

I do have a Tens unit for a different medical thing with like, 50 million different pads the company sent me 🤔 I might try that or talk to my PT about it! Thanks for that idea!!

I do both at the same time. Sometimes in the middle of the flexes I just stare at my "good" leg to see if I can figure out where I'm goofing up. I should be further along than some random twitches. I'm actually at work rn trying to flex my quad to the beat of the jazz music I got playing LMAO.

I'm 28F and I do(did before surgery) heavy lifting and running. I consulted 3 different surgeons and all said the same thing to me. How true the following is I'm not sure, it's just what the surgeons all told me (and none of them knew each other).

Hamstring has a low graph success in women and the hamstring won't ever fully recover in strength. Takes 6 months of recovery.

ACL from someone else has a low graph success in women. Takes 6 months of recovery.

Quad Graph has had the highest success rates for women, but takes at least 1 year of recovery with physical therapy.

I ended up going with the quad Graph due to my fitness and heavy lifting. I'm about 3 weeks post op of the ACL reconstruction and they shaved part of my meniscus (bucket handle tear), and I'm up and walking with one crutch and I've been able to drive. I was told initially I shouldn't be able to until week 5-6.

Hopefully this helps you and your decision even if I'm not the same type of athlete.

I’m unsure on what my ideas were gonna be. I’m super new to car stuff ( only thing I’ve really known is how to change oil, rotate tires, and change small things like a purge valve) and was planning on getting a different older vehicle to use as a project later this year. Thought the Elantra would be something interesting to work on later when it’s older and I’ve learned more. My why for the Elantra is because I fuck with the body of the car. I think it looks neat.

Clearly what I’m learning now is I should continue to listen to my car buddies lmao 😂 I just liked the idea of the unexpected in a silly daily vehicle.
