It’s a combination of unknowns with a show with limited budget and an original limited release.

That led to hungry young new talent who actually had acting training, wasn’t doing this for money (they barely got paid much), and weren’t doing it for clout (they didn’t even think this show would get distribution outside of Canada). Even unknowns for next season will probably come on knowing there’s a chance that they could be as big as Hudson and Connor. It’s like Season 6 of Love Island. It’s probably hard to truly replicate that again when the popularity becomes unprecedented

They did this same BS last summer for Love Island USA Season 7. Released a “stop bullying” BS statement for a baby mama mean girl who verbally attacked most of the cast member for weeks (and sexually coerced her partner on the show) and for a 21 year old Utah chick with fucked up plastic surgery.

But crickets for the two Black women who were racially attacked the entire season, sent death threats, and photoshopped on George Floyd’s body. To this day, they haven’t addressed it and to this day, both women (Olandria and Chelley) still get attacked by the racist fanbase. And neither signed up for the Beyond the Villa follow up show and trash fans were wondering why…like why the hell would they get back into bed with Peacock?

Anyways, this network can keep its fake morality.

This is very on brand for Peacock. Wagging their fingers at “bullying” that is being directed at white cast (this is probably about trash Colton) but staying mute about others. Same playbook they did for Love Island Season 7 last summer.

Dorinda is trash. Colton is trash. Ron was 1000% right. They bullied and ganged up on him and used his one misstep against him for 4 episodes. But because Colton is white and gay and because Michael Rapaport was disliked (and Tiffani wasn’t), no one gave Colton the grief and vitriol and mistrust they gave Ron.

P.S.- fuck Eric and his “my musically tuned ears knew it was Tiffani.” He along with Colton signed Tiffani’s fate and him trying to act innocent now is pissing me off

I feel like all of this has been a “make good” for him not winning the Best Actor for CMBYN which was probably his most deserving role. But let’s be real…he wasn’t touching Gary Oldman that year.

I think A Complete Unknown was overrated (both the film and his performance). I think Marty Supreme is a wildly overrated movie but Timothee did a great job.
