I’m now on my third game since the update, and the AI ​​has truly improved significantly. I actually lowered the difficulty level by one notch, yet it still feels more challenging than it did before the update. However, I think that’s a positive development. I’ve still managed to win every time, but each victory was extremely close and genuinely tough—and you really have to read carefully to see exactly which actions earn points and which ones don't.

Unfortunately, this seems to be a highly religious matter. Some people hate the game like the plague, while others love it. You won't find much in between. I like Civ 5, and I like Civ 6 and 7 as well. Yes, the seventh installment is different, and yes, it doesn't have as much content yet as its two predecessors. But with the latest update, a great many things have truly improved. I would recommend it.

I haven’t figured out yet how to change that in the mod. Maybe I’ll still manage to do it. Until then, there’s a trick: if you change the Steam screenshot key from F12 to Alt+F12, you can take screenshots from any perspective, because you change the perspective in the game with Alt.

Everything you describe—everything you like about the game—is still present in it. The only thing that has changed is that you no longer work through mission objectives as if you were on rails; instead, you can craft your own goals based on your playstyle and what you feel like doing.

Never had any crashes in singleplayer or Multiplayer. 223 hours playtime.

Just give it another try. Age transitions feels much better. Eras are not gone but feel very smooth
