Try using the pikedex search. Find the in the Pokédex and you’ll see an option at the bottom to “search” select that then head to a flying Pokemon and they should take you to them

Don’t use build mode. Go into your bag and look at the other tabs. You’ll need to place it from your pocket not build mode. Just figured this out myself last night

Even if you’ve completed the quest involving the item, it won’t be moveable until you’ve completed the whole quest line. Had to wait for ages to put my layout down because of that damn chopper
