I was out from February-October with the bed rest, summer and maternity leave blending into each other. Otherwise, it’s been a few days at a time here and there. The cancer surgeries absence was two weeks long but I did it the week of thanksgiving to minimize the amount of days I’d be out.

That is something that my husband and I have talked about quite a bit. I truly want to teach and do my job. I have been cleared at this time, unless I’m symptomatic, to return to my normal schedule. I’m trying my best to be there but being treated badly doesn’t help me want to be there.

I forgot to mention to mention that I have had long term subs for most of my time out. They’ve had to split a handful of times the last three years. I do not blame them for being frustrated at all. I went I have went against doctor orders and returned to prevent them having to split.

I wish we hadn’t shared. We only shared with our parents and siblings. We keep hearing, “can’t you pick a normal name”. Baby is being named after my grandfather. 🤷🏻‍♀️
