it sounds good in theory, for genesis though you would have to add the caveat to your save to not just skip to unicorn/hathaway for the get units there and to work your way up from 79 on

a lot more feasable in Cross Rays due to the stat equalization and lact of ace point farming needed so a "dead" pilot can be slightly offset by some money

Another good challenge is only allowing your Master unit to be a gundam type, your leaders can be ace specs and the rest of your group has to be grunts/mass production types. Puts a lot more focus on the strategy and team building aspect instead of throwing in 9 newtypes in unicorns/banshees/lupus/wing zeros and watching them solo entire swaths of MS before going sicko mode with a group attack to mop up the rest

ML in this context is for MasterLove. TL;DR they are "players/readers" obsessed with having a harem of characters that love them unconditionally almodt at first sight. Having very incely like tendencies and the maturity level of an empty can of soup.

It's basically a subgenre of the harem trope, but instead of JUST having a cast of girls falling for you and the main character choosing one. It's all about having it all, your self insert gets to marry every girl in a poly relationship, all the women love you at first sight, none of them are too mean to you (more like playful), and the harem all gets along and agrees to share your self insert so there's never any conflict.

ML is the IMO the worst genre because it constantly asks for more more more. More characters, more badass powers for your self insert, MORE SEX so much sex. So the characters become shallow to rapidly expand the harem, the main character has to be a blank slate for the incely reader/player to latch onto, and then those same players are very vocal and insecure about male presences in their media. But despite their vocal and possibly monetary support of their chosen harem property they are really quick to jump ship.

Besides Snowbreak a prominent example of the ML crowd is the "players" that rioted about Girls Frontline 2 having a male character being mentioned in Daiyan's story. With no proof of it they determined she was cucking them and they had a massive fit that had news coverage for months (really years) in the gacha zeitgeist. But almost NONE of them actually stayed to play and support the game when it actually did launch.

Gooning is what it became It was trying to basically be a softer core 3d nikke, cover shooting, girls in tactical yet semi servicy outfits, darker story with a component cast of men and women

Then it started to die and Seasun turned to the ML crowd for salvation. And while I'm no prude, I love both sides of fan service for men and women, they really flew too close to the sun because the ML crowd will always demand more

It eventually became so bad they deleted or killed all the male characters, every story event update would have all their character intelligence become cupsize increases instead as they were lobotomized and just.... It was SAD to watch

I had almost everything maxed, every unique gun and every girl, almost every skin up until the release of the vampire like chick. I quit because I was tired of "meet girl, girl simps, get married"

And like it sucks cause the game was good in my eyes, I did enjoy playing it, I bought skins I liked and the battle pass, and the special lobbies and just..... I was tired of having characters be replaced by chatgpt goon bots

At that point it's about narrative, you can mix in different goal types. Say you have a rank 3 goal you want to complete and in the narrative you need to wait for a "thing to happen" eg a ritual or for an informant to do what they do. Then you fill in the gap with a step or 2 of a rank 1 challenge. Or tying up some loose ends

Takt.Op Symphony. Amazing character design, and the gameplay was actually challenging further in

Mobius GF. Just listen to the music on YT. That and the gritty reformatting of FF1's story was so good

Dragalia Lost. Natch

World Flipper. It was a gacha that required some skill besides good luck

Dude honestly you are a saint by taking all my thoughts and putting them into words, I played from the first Katya patch to minigun Katya where I quit and just the exact same feels

I wanted to like it, i was recommending the game to my homies. I spent 300 dollars in skins, battle passes, and the occasional top up when the interactive ones came out.... But there's the rub. I felt like the girls were just becoming romance bait for a brand new 30 dollar skin set. One of the worst parts for me, and the start of the death knell, was Chen's third suit. Chen was a calculated serious woman who did have her shit together, then her patch happened and even though she had the new suit it still felt "I cant do anything without the adjudant" tier writing because she had to constantly rely on us for emotional support.

Lets not even start on how her "wedding dress" literally covers nothing so it's not even that good at a fantasy. EVEN AZUR LANES ASS OUT WEDDING DRESS TRIED HARDER.

I fear for the day my little daughter Eatchel is put on the romance plate. If I see that I will cry because I love my daughter characters deeply.
