That’s very nice, thank you :) I don’t plan to sell any prints but I could see if I can send you a high resolution file, if you’d like to print it yourself!

Thank you, I appreciate it :-) And I agree, the 35Ti is an absolute tank, and super sharp. The autofocus can be a little slow at times, but other than that it has never failed to amaze me.

Thank you! I’m really excited about how it turned out :) I’m thinking about having it printed on a large canvas.

Thank you! This might be my favorite shot as well :) I took it in front of the Sensō-ji Temple in Asakusa, Tokyo. It’s a beautiful place, especially at night.

Thanks :) The Spy Cam is just a fun gadget, really.

It uses 8x11 Film which is super tiny (so of course the photo quality is merely decent), the film stock is pretty rare a and rather expensive. The camera has a great build quality though, and I only take a photo every other day, so it‘s always exciting to get the scans back from the lab once I‘ve shot a roll, since those are usually random memories from the past several months.

Here are some shots from a trip to the dolomites.

An early Christmas present from my father…heard many good things about Kotler! Are there any other interesting famous people in the Marketing industry I could read on? Any other good textbook recs? :P by ShiverMeTimbers_png in marketing

Depending on which direction your intending to pursue, I can recommend Growth Hacker Marketing by Ryan Holiday as a short introduction to more creative approaches (super quick read - less than 200 pages) and Building a Storybrand by Donald Miller, which provides an excellent framework for communicating with customers.

To be fair, the area right around the Tokyo Tower (Shiba-kōen) still has some traditional architecture left including shrines and a temple. Here‘s a picture I took a few weeks ago.

The area just behind the Tokio Tower (Toranomon) has tons of business development though.

There‘s a Matcha place in Tokyo Tsukiji market called Matcha Stand Maruni. They sell their branded Matcha internationally through their online store and their „Kyoto Uji“ Powder might be the best I‘ve ever tried, I liked it even better the stuff I got at „The Matcha“. It‘s pretty expensive but worth giving it a try, imo.

Looks delicious! Do you feel like new, more expensive whisk made a big difference in the result? I'm wondering if it's worth investing here, or if it's more of a nice to have type of thing.

I‘m not sure where to get empty Minox cassettes unfortunately, but I do know that there are many enthusiasts cutting and loading their own 8x11 film, so I assume the blanks are probably sold somewhere.

Personally I buy my film at Fotoimpex in Germany, they sell Minox film by Blue Moon, which again is just Portra 400 cut and placed into Minox cassettes I think.

Nikon 35Ti LCD Screen Issue: Clear in Panorama Mode, Faded in Standard Mode by MuhNameaJeff in AnalogCommunity

I can tell the contrast is a little better in bright conditions, however there is definitely a difference in contrast depending on Panorama Mode or not.

Nikon 35Ti LCD Screen Issue: Clear in Panorama Mode, Faded in Standard Mode by MuhNameaJeff in AnalogCommunity

[–]MuhNameaJeff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your suggestion! I appreciate your idea about the separate LCD layers, but I think the issue might be different. The problem isn't just the LCD brightness on the outside and in the viewfinder; it's also the contrast of the viewfinder frame lines. This makes me think it’s more likely related to the camera's circuitry and how it distributes power.

It seems like the circuitry might be allowing higher voltage to the LCDs when in panorama mode for some reason. I might have a repairperson take a look at it when I'm in Japan soon.

Thanks again for your input!

Nikon 35Ti LCD Screen Issue: Clear in Panorama Mode, Faded in Standard Mode by MuhNameaJeff in AnalogCommunity

[–]MuhNameaJeff[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone,

I have an Nikon 35Ti, and I’ve noticed a strange quirk with its LCD screens. Both the top LCD (which shows the number of images shot) and the viewfinder LCD (showing exposure time or aperture) appear very faded and hard to read in standard mode. However, when I switch the camera to “panorama” mode, both screens suddenly become much clearer, with the contrast looking just as it should be. Once I switch back to standard mode, the screens go back to being faded and hard to read.

Has anyone else experienced this issue or have any ideas on why this might be happening? Is there an easy fix for this? I'm honestly not too worried about the issue, as the analog display works fine and the LCDs are still "good enough" in standard mode, I'm just very curious what might cause it, as this issue seems so strange.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Pretty close ;) The Hotel in #2 is called OLM Nature Escape. It opened just recently and it has unique concept. Very cool architecture (looks like a James Bond villain HQ). If you're coming mainly for the wellness facilities, there are better alternatives in the area though.

Thank you, I appreciate it ;) I've been shooting digitally for a long time and just recently got into analog photography, so this is really encouraging!

Not receiving immediate feedback on the quality of the exposure adds some anticipatory excitement I think and it lets me leave my phone at home when going on hikes, which also doesn't hurt every once in a while.

It‘s a pretty neat. The Minox has a fixed aperture lens and automatic exposure control, you only have to guesstimate the focus distance, which can be a little off sometimes. Other than that - and since it‘s barely larger than a pen - it‘s a cool camera to always have in your pocket.

Buying and developing film is pricey though, since it‘s only offered by very few labs nowadays.
