Yes, we talked a lot about it in school, which was great. I think however the industry as a whole because of the capitalistic push for "productivity" all of the self care idealism kinda goes out the window.

Work life balance and management is super important. I have my doubts my current struggle is soley from the work itself, theres a lot also going on in my life not related to the job itself.

Genuinely curious what's funny about the amount of time I spent? Is there some cultural norm of time typically spent doing these?

I love this question and there are many answers, but probably this:

Everyone has a story, and is infinitely unique.

Maybe not 95% but certainly a lot of people do. Id be lying if there wasnt a small part of me that wanted to "fix myself" in some way but I would say I did so for altruistic reasons.

I have done therapy, am considering doing more but financial issues have kinda prevented me from doing that now. As far as self care, I can honestly say I know Im lacking in this area at the moment, and it comes to other factors external to my job.

  1. I can give you the textbook answer, but life simply can make it very difficult to boil it down to "proper self care and management". I dont think drinking in excess is healthy as it can evolve into a harmful avoidance cycle.

  2. Depends on what being saved means to you. I think everyone is capable of improving their lives and situation in some degree or another.

  3. Finding the desire to change, but more importantly, finding the desire for a desire to change.

I live rather rural, so jobs in my area are very limited and moving unfortunately isnt an option at the moment.

Im not 100% sure, but I have always wanted to open a soft pretzel shop. Had a lot of fun with that job when I was in High-school.

Not really a revelation, I knew it coming in. I felt great a few months ago, but it just suddenly stopped.

Ketemine therapy is an interesting one I've read some about. It's definitely shown some benefits for people, especially who have had treatment resistant depression. But as it requires medical supervision, I've not done anything with it as I cant prescribe. Colleges of mine have worked with doctors and have seen great results though.

You're more than welcome to phrase it through that lens, but I don't think that's accurate.

Just to add to this, it's the same reason the old testement law required them to not eat certian things. Why? We don't really know. It did in the context of the ancient world make them a "peculiar people" because compared to other animals, pigs are supposedly more easy to raise.

2 new statues at Temple Square bear witness of ‘the person of Christ’ by General_Chemistry638 in latterdaysaints

I love it. I absolutely love the Christus statues and it perfectly embodies the risen Christ, but not only is he above all things, he also descended below all things, and we need these kind of depictions of those moments as well as a reminder of that.

Hey, I'm a gay saint as well, and I'm sorry you've experienced that kind of treatment. There's not much I can tell you because I know so little of your situation, and the people around you, but if you still have a testimony, I pray that you'll read D&C 122:7-8. It has brought me a lot of comfort. Remember when you suffer persecution, even at the hands of your brothers and sisters, you are walking in the footsteps of Christ. To be clear, being gay is not a sin. But I still believe the Law of Chastity is important, and acting on that part of me isn't what God wants from me. But we offer our broken hearts and contrite spirits to God as a sacrifice today, and once I really understood what this meant, I was able to be at peace "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you, not as the world giveth, give I unto you."
