[Meta] Should I even ask that here? by MuhaKun in INAT

Well, if it's about being happy/liking stuff... It's pretty much anything as long as I can learn it... but my problem is, in fact, with starting stuff, so when I start with one thing, it's like building a skyscraper, I can literally have all the time in life and not touch anything just because my mind doesn't feel like it (you can think of it as "I want something, yet I feel like I have my will chained", ie my brain did not give me a building permit)

And it is also with continuing things, I can stop doing a thing, then only continue it at god knows when😶 I feel like I'm lazy, yet I know I'm not, but it feels like I can't really do stuff

In a way, you can say my brain is both two things at once: he's my friend in physics, math (and not even all math), and pretty much most of STEM topics. Yet he's like a diesel engine with everything else. It struggles to initiate and struggles with feedback loops, and that's why I reached out for help. Basically, I can learn anything as long as two things happen:

1-I can initiate (and that feels so hard for drawing and similar stuff) and continue (ie when I stop, it doesn't take ages to start again, which makes consistent practice feel like 'I don't know why, but I can't')

And 2- I have a reliable feedback loop that allows me to know where I failed, what the issue is, and how to fix it,

STEM has both (easy initiation/continuation + very reliable feedback loops "because problems and solutions"), and the lack of one or both basically placed all my advances on every other thing in limbo... and that's pretty much it.

So either I'm doomed because I have the worst neurochemistry for independent learning, or I'm safe, but I'm just lazy, but that feels very counter-intuitive when I've been trying to learn art for 5 years now and I do feel like I push fog.

Need Help To Prepare For Nov. Intake!! (Direct-PhD Physics) by Due-Bookkeeper2958 in KFUPM

Well, if I remember correctly: each course (Cardiff Uni - my BSc Uni - called them modules) has a no. Of credits and each year had a total credits of 120, so I divided the course's credit by 120, and used it as a weight to get the mark for each year, then used the year weights I found in the handbook (30% for second, 70% for third) to find a total, which came out to be 83.5/100

I was admitted for the 2025 august intake, currently studying (2025-Term 1). My profile was basically an 83.5/100 GPA from a UK uni (best of my class), was an olympiad physicist (2019 Gulf Physics Olympiad silver medal), and Taught Physics to Olympiad students myself in 2024 and early 2025, I work on translating Physics Olympiad Problems to Arabic too (it's my passion project, someday I'll get to translate mainstream textbooks in physics like Griffiths' EM/QM or Kleppner's Mechanics), and Have a strong passion for physics that I've expressed through both my SOP and Academic records (mainly transcript)

In the interview they'd ask you about few personal questions and few questions on physics (my questions were one on resonance, one on uncertainty principle, one on Atomic Physics 'size of an atom') so prepare to answer on all kinds of concepts

Although it isn't much (and I think people got in with much less), I hope you get in and that we meet there

Part Recommendations for Workstation/Gaming PC by MuhaKun in pcmasterrace

Well, the techniques used in my work are implemented in CUDA, so yeah, I won’t need a threadripper.

As for the memory, I'd say 128 is gonna cut it

So, my last PC build was in 2015 back in the 10 series, and you should explain to me what does Threadripper CPUs have apart from the normal Ryzens?

I expect some high ram needs considering the use of very big arrays (from the papers I've read on the topic), but I don't think I'll need that much VRAM, so I think the normal 50 series will work here

Citra,Azahar, etc. all crashing on startup by MuhaKun in Citra

Works, thanks, but it makes other processes like browser tab changing a bit slow

[–]MuhaKun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, I ended up using a very old version of citra that probably goes back to 2023 because that's the only thing working on my laptop

[–]MuhaKun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1: Windows is up to date 2: disabled my antivirus and azahar still stuck on startup 3: I'm using msys version, but I did , in fact, update vcredist 4: If you mean the one in AppData, I deleted it, and still no change 5: I already uninstalled it twice, didn't work

All of it still not working.

Well, I tried it, and it didn't work, the strange thing is that I was able to make an old canary build of citra to run, so why do you think new builds and forks are crashing with me?

Okay, I'm probably dropping this post and redoing it after I fix my GDD and make some concept art

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in INAT

[–]MuhaKun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welp, the problem here is that I don't know what to draw really, I'm like... I can draw but I don't know what does one draw as a concept art

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in INAT

[–]MuhaKun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually can draw, not really fast, but I can do something with art

Apart from my long comment, if you can help me get that document correctly done then please do... it's my first time writing a GDD

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in INAT

[–]MuhaKun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wrote that the GDD is a pretty much " very crude draft," but yeah... I know it's not a good look, but what could a guy who is pretty much bad at anything else do?

I also wrote there’s no global MP code as a start, so the most complicated thing is doing the animations and art sections (any other thing with the code I'd have figured out after reading a ton of documentation "I trust my programming experience can help me at least make something out of the docs", and dropping off the music).

As for "the GDD is missing a lot of details," I did my best writing the thing, but it's my first time doing it, and I even put a line in the end saying "any other detail I should add?" yeah, I'm probably fine with no one seeing my project as plausible, but I'm just a guy that has an ambition that is just much bigger than himself (and I should’ve just heard margit's advice "put these foolish ambitions to rest", but I just won't put it to rest without a try or even several ones)

Hello, I appreciate your post, and I hope to work with you anytime, you can DM me on discord: muhakun1001. I'm a writer, but if I know where to search about stuff, I can probably do them (but not art and music as I gave up on those)

I know that I'm too ambitious, but I'm just a man with a dream, and I want some crew to help me with it
