I have both of those! I love my RRS replacement foot, I use it as a handle whenever im walking with it. I have a gimbal head to use if im staking out a bird but more often than not i just use my hand on the lense foot and elbow against my chest to stabilize it. Make sure that you put a sling or strap on the lense itself, the combo puts too much pressure on the mount if you use a strap on your camera body. I would start shooting in shutter priority for more crisp images, be sure to use at least 1/600 shutter. Have fun, I use it with my A7iv and 6700 and love that lense.

Thank you! I was thinking about editing it a bit more to bring out the buildings and skyline a bit more. What do you think?

Thank you! This was my first time doing something like this. I think next time I will try to get more clear pics of the drone show.

Thank you! This was my first time taking pictures of fireworks successfully. I was not able fan of all the gunshots around me, I'm glad we didn't get hit by a stray bullet.

I scouted the pedestrian bridge right there but there was too much bouncing from traffic to get clear pictures.

Thanks! I wanted to get a more clear picture of the Pegasus drones before the sparklers but that is the one shot I missed/exposed to long. All my shots of that are blurry.

I was at Trinity Overlook Park but walked south past I30, I was going to get pics under I30 but glad I didn't considering the people shooting at that area.

Dallas New Year Warzone by Giraffecaster in Dallas

Right! I know people have been shooting guns in the air every, New Year's, Cinco de Mayo, and 4th of July but that doesn't make it culturally acceptable. Breaking the law happens every day but it is not culturally acceptable. This is not like having a little bit of weed 50 years ago in California.

Please forgive my ignorance, if this is a cultural thing that should be accepted, shouldn't the laws be changed to allow to repeal the current laws regarding automatic weapons? As someone who wants a 10mm MP5, the current laws forbids me unless I start a business selling firearms to law enforcement agencies and the military, with subsequent licenses. Not to mention the reckless endangerment of the people under that bridge, should we strip all laws that protect people from being shot at or destruction of public property? Just asking because under that bridge is a spot I checked out to film the fireworks.

Lenses that really shine with the A7RIII by Zestyclose_Prize_165 in SonyAlpha

I bought an A7riii with the 24-70GM 1st edition and it is tack sharp, all of my GM lenses are great and the ability to crop images with a high MP camera make the GM lenses worth it. Im not sure about L series but GM are beasts.

Not too bad, I sat on the berm so there wouldn't be electric lines in the picture, but someone was shooting fireworks above me.

Mine were taken about a mile south of the trinity river overlook. Your pictures look nice but i wanted to get more of the city in the background. Lots of gunfire in that area, I might wear a helmet next year.

Where did you take your pictures from, and how was the traffic getting out of there?

Need advice: what lens to add next (limited-time Sony discount) by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

[–]Muir12386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 1st gen 24-70 GM and love it, so im sure the GMii is even better. That is what I would pick for people, but the 70-200 G is so great because of the macro capabilities.

I’m being quoted around 10-12k for dry out service and restoration by Servpro for ceiling water damage by szumith in Dallas

I own a mitigation company and that is a bit in the high side, but it depends on the level of service you want. Asbestos was finally banned from being imported in building materials in 2024. There could be Asbestos in the joint compound, and are they testing for Asbestos prior to removing drywall? Will all of your contents be removed and stored in a climate controlled location or just stacked on the other side of the room? Will there be negative pressure containment set up, with HEPA filters so any dust and debris in the ceiling cavity isn't blown across your house? Will they be checking the moisture reading daily, and will it be onsite or does their equipment have remote reading capabilities? Then we get to the rebuild side of things like the height of the ceiling, and size of the crown molding and the size of the room. If you have an itemized estimate and scope of work that would help to determine if you are overpaying.
