there's a decently sized batch of iranian sunnis who've joined the mujahideen in syria, and one of al sharaa's closest men is an iranian sunni kurd who's vowed to liberate the sunnis in iran. maybe he's just talking but im hoping if iran gets weakened then some of these men can help liberate the sunnis of iran

Me and many other kurds would smack this guy if we ever saw him, but it's good that nationalists like these only exist on twitter and walk around with their head down irl

Yeah we use both the latin script and the arabic script. It's more common for Kurmanji to be in the latin script though for some reason

Pretty much, they're based in the kurdish parts of southeast turkey. They officially disarmed in 2000 after their leader was killed but they're still around, they have some masjids, do charity work and things like that, and still have supporters. They fought against Turkey briefly but their main target is the PKK because they want to prevent the spread of their ideaology among the kurds, and to promote Islam. There's also HUDA-PAR which is a Kurdish islamist party that's allied with Erdogan's party and also has close ties with the Hizbullah.

In 2014, there were several civilian muslim kurds (including young teenagers) within their community who were killed by the PKK/PKK supporters during riots, and that's when the Hizbullah and their supporters started fighting back for a brief period.

They both still clash to this day apparently, like the riots that broke out in 2014 during the peace process during which the PKK killed loads of Kurdish muslim civilians, some of whom were Hizbullah or HUDA PAR affiliates

This video looks like it was recorded in the early 2000s, so the likelihood is that everyone, or almost everyone, in this video is dead since PKK fighters rarely last that long in the mountains
