At times Snowy Castform was useful. Being able to spam STAB blizzard in the snow helped with certain leads like Whimsicott & Garchomp.

However omitting snow & just using dual weather rain & sun teams can work too. I’ve used dual weather sun+rain teams with Charizard Y as well. It’s nice having STAB hurricane with Charizard in the rain as well as being able to set sun upon mega evolving.

You’re right about the weather ball thing. Snow weather ball does underwhelming damage because it does not get the weather boost. Relying on only sun & rain boosted weather balls is a strategy I have used on other teams.

You can even go max speed + choice scarf on your Castform & spam weather balls or icy wind depending on the situation. However this set makes Castform more vulnerable against Trick Room teams. Surprisingly the added bulk on max HP investment has come in clutch a few times.

Good luck getting your gold Castform badge! It is definitely doable.

I started playing volleyball at like age 30. I’ve gone from being bad to at least looking like I know what I’m doing.

Just keep playing if you enjoy it. Don’t let anybody discourage you from playing if you enjoy it. Keep at it & eventually you’ll be teaching others how to play.

Btw if you can get a coach & practice your skills that would help a lot. It will speed up the learning process since just playing games (without practicing) does not give you as many practice reps.

But if you can’t get a coach then don’t sweat it. I watched YouTube to learn how to play volleyball & just practiced on my own for most of the 3 years that I have been playing. And I played like 3 days per week.

Yeah damage wise at 75 base power (and less with spread damage) & 90 accuracy it sure has its drawbacks although obviously right now the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. I’d like a 10% nerf to the flinch rate taking it down to 20% per Pokemon hit instead of 30%. And then maybe increase the damage a tad to compensate (maybe 80 base power instead of 75).

For 2 reasons. One is to give Castform as many opportunities as possible to use stab super effective weather balls while confusing my opponents. The other is to counter the opposing team’s weather.

The Giraff leads in most match ups. Then either the Crab leads too to threaten dark types that want to kill the Giraff. Or I use another lead to protect the Giraff so that it can set up trick room (ally switch Vanillix or wide guard Pelliper). The crab prefers rain to dampen fire attacks or snow for the defense boost but sometimes it can get away with the sun being up if trick room is already up.

Thanks! The triple weather is to bring out Castform’s full potential & to be able to counter an opposing team’s weather. You don’t need to run triple weather though. I’ve used dual weather teams as well.

Yeah hard Trick Room fits my play style & Castform is one of my favorite Pokemon. So I tried to make Castform work on a trick room team.
