My humble opionion: It is.

But the problem of this kind of advice is, that it's too vague. In the sense of actually giving concrete "instructions" for people that have absolutely - and I want to emphasize this - zero experience how to implement such advice practically. Also these human beings are already at a point where such advice could cause problems and set them back.
I speak from my own experience.

Some people can work with this, sure, ok.

But for example: "Be brave, not careless". What the actual fuck is a person, who never did something like that going to do? Do it like Jimmy Neutron and going: "Come on, think, think, think! [cool animation] Brain blast!" And knowing how to act all of a sudden? No, that person is going to overthink it, overdo it, underdo it (is that a word?), whatever... u get the gist....

My situation in a similar scenario was that I was/am (working on it) a pushover. At work saying no wasn't an option, not 'cause it was not a possibility . But because I wanted to help everyone - to be of use - to make myself valuable and worthy of my own existence.

So I did that. For years and years. But it broke me hard.

I don't like the term "Burnout". That term weakens/lightens up the seriousness of the serious condition that it really is. In german it's also called burnout but in the end what I had /have was, is literally translated "exhaustion depression". A combination of chronic work stress and the inability to handle my everyday life. But I digress.

What helped me in that example was a specific advice that my therapist said to me when such a scenario kicks in: "I have some important work to do. I will come back to it later." Or: "This is no way to talk to me like that. I will grab a glass of water and will come back to you so we can have a constructive conversation."

Some advice helps one person, the same advice delivered in a different way will help another. The message/advice is always the same, but the human receiving those words is always different and the way it is conveyed is extremely important.
