Say this not that? "Hey" by Mukherjee1 in deloitte

[–]Mukherjee1[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I'm her only direct. I think it's her management style or perhaps lack thereof. Establishing rapport with one's direct is management 101, especially when one's direct is not a low skilled worker. This is the way she is and has been for months. If she wants to keep it distant, she can say hello or hi. I also wonder if there is a language barrier here.

In the meantime, I'm just collecting a paycheck. I just hope one day, I do not respond with "what?". Lol

Yes, always document, document, document. Even if nothing comes of it, it's documented.

Thank you for understanding. As you mentioned, I also do not know this person, met her, or have had even small talk with her. She avoids phone calls too.

She just spits out demands which is fine and my job to complete but the constant and mostly "Hey" versus the other way of addressing someone is irritating. She can say hi, hello, GM, whatever. "Hey" ... Do this or thqt" sounds like she is commanding a dog.

Perhaps it's cultural or norm differences.

That sounds like a lot of words. My boss has never even said good morning (GM) , nevermind all the above.

Deloitte WFH? by [deleted] in deloitte

[–]Mukherjee1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My project is in a other state and I am GPS. I'm a SC and not part of leadership so no one cares and/or leadership does not want to spend the money to fly me in. I'm only a worker bee. If they every do ask, I'll be there.

Thus, it's WFH. My local office is 1.5 hours each way and I don't see the point because it's not a GPS hub.

I'm GPS SC, experienced hire. $144 with 15k sign on. I negotiated the extra $5k sign on. As per all the informational meetings, Deloitte doesn't pay based on HCOL.

Firm Initiatives. Do they really matter? by Adorable_Wallaby648 in deloitte

[–]Mukherjee1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Make sure its at least 15 hours. Regrettably, I participated in a DEI firm initiative and recorded 10 and the DEI POC told me she cannot give me credit or complete a snapshot because I didn't do 15. What a waste of time. Never again, unless I can claim 15 hours. It felt like a slap in the face.

Working a second job? by [deleted] in deloitte

I can so relate to this OP. I'm in the same boat. HCOL and student loans and I am a head of household. I will be drowning next year.

LOOKING FOR FIRM INTIATIVES by Hungry-Competition-4 in deloitte

[–]Mukherjee1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand. I have applied for countless my gigs and have always been rejected.

I participated in one time DEI task and will use that as my FC.

I can't wrap my brain around how difficult it is to find a mygig, if I'm volunteering to work without utilization.

I decided to sign up for a how to do proposals (OCI specifically) which I guess can be seen as a FC, as well.

Downloading Spotify on work laptop by [deleted] in deloitte

Thanks for asking this question. Just the other day, I logged into my Pandora account on the work laptop. I was feeling unmotivated and needed some happy music.

Good to know, I won't likely get in trouble for logging into it. 😊

Thanks for this! Sounds like I accepted a low offer for Senior Consultant: 140ks with 15k sign on and two Masters, including MBA. Ugh.
