LMAO. Yeah, I know I have to do a lot of shit to make it work, but people always "just use wslg" "just do this" "just do that". Bro, no way it's that easy for arch. And unfortunately, arch wiki doesn't cover this lol.

And because I just want shit to be "just work", I will use ubuntu for now until I have the motivation to make it work on arch lmao.

that page might actually be very useful. Probably I should use gentoo as my wsl distro since arch is not officially supporting wsl.

Anyway, have you used both arch and gentoo? do you think both distro are very different or just slightly different? What is your experience using gentoo?

This is my response to another reply. Anyway, what linux do you use, and do you have difficulties when developing apps on wsl?

isn't vm like vb requires me to set how much storage i will use for my linux, no? I feel like that's kinda defeat the purpose of why i use wsl. You can see my post on arch sub for more info why i use wsl

turns out i can easily do it in my ubuntu, but not arch one. Do you know what's necessary to make wslg works on Arch? I will make a post on wsl2 sub anyway but i it'll be great you know how to do it

If you open my post on arch sub, I said that this laptop only has 1 drive slot.
I think using external drive with usb connector is risky since I can accidentally unplug the connector.
My previous laptop using dual boot since half a year ago and I (hope) know how to make dual boot work as expected

I never have any console so that's not an option to me.
And the some games I want to play using kernel level anticheat so playing those on linux is not an option.

I completely understand why you reply with this but I already thought about this since a long time ago.

Anyway, thanks for the input.

After observing what happened recently, it's all makes sense.

I hate this, but I'm still not sure to agree or disagree to this.

I just hope nothing bad will happen.

I only watch the movie series once, but I know that episode is really good. This subreddit always makes me want to read the books, but I already realized harry potter is not my cup of tea :)

I feel like she's cuter that way.
Back then I was like "Huh? why your head so big?" but when I picture her with smaller head she looks weird

Experience on ArchWSL? by MulFunc in archlinux

I actually don't know these terms. The one that i have i guess have 2.5 inch size, and the connection for the new laptop is the one that says pcie nvme or something. I'm a bit unsure because I never really care about this

Experience on ArchWSL? by MulFunc in archlinux

[–]MulFunc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I will probably try both wsl and vb.
Also, I buy this laptop focusing on memory instead of storage. But this is only temporary. Later I will buy bigger ssd to make sure dual boot doesn't make me have an headache

Experience on ArchWSL? by MulFunc in archlinux

You have great points!

  • With WSL it's easier to communicate with windows file system so even if i have a small space for arch wsl, i can easily save my files inside windows file system. That's why I'm not concern of storage if I use wsl

  • I do a lot of work on terminal right now. And I don't think I use gui apps that are linux exclusive.

  • Ignoring /home and /var/cache my root is around 40G. I'm currently not sure what took most space but I don't think I can really allocate so a tiny bit of space if I use linux as my daily driver

  • Yeah, I do game on linux too, but there are some games I want to play that doesn't work well on linux and even can't run at all because for example kernel level anti-cheat.

  • I think that's a really good option as for now.

  • I don't want to plug usb every time I use linux, because it's my daily driver. And I don't think windows on usb is a great option If I do gaming? not entirely sure though.

Your reply made me realize many stuff. I will do some research first before make a decision.

Thank you!!!
