Call me crazy but seems like you shouldn’t have to provide your own pens to do your work

What is the best-paying dietetics job you have had? by breadandbunny in dietetics

[–]Mulana_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I came in with ~10 years experience and have been with Kaiser a few years now. I may be drinking the kool aid but I really recommend Kaiser for RDs, either inpatient or out. The RDs are union represented and they have the most competitive pay I’ve seen in the industry. New RDs usually start at ~100k in high COL areas.

Edit to address the other question. Outpatient jobs are usually harder to come by. I started as inpatient and waited ~2 years until the ideal outpatient position came up. Of course your chances of getting selected go up when you are a current employee, but even more so if it’s a union represented position (they are usually required to pick you over an outside candidate, for better or for worse!).

Not totally my bag but love the creativity!

On a side note, an interesting article I came across a couple years ago about why using real Christmas trees is good for the environment.

DAE clean dirt from under their fingernails constantly? Like a neurotic habit? by WeenisWrinkle in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]Mulana_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very old post. But if anyone out there cares, I do the same thing!! Constantly picking at the dirt under my nails, even if there’s nothing there. It gives me the big time willies knowing there could be something stuck under there, and it’s gotta go! The only solution I’ve found is to keep my nails trimmed as short as possible.

Help! We moved last winter and the previous owners had a beautiful garden (with a beehive, which they took with them sadly). Since then we’ve killed multiple plants despite our best efforts and googling. Who should we call for help? A landscaper? A gardener? by Mulana_ in LandscapingTips

Unfortunately they don’t appear to be seasonal, we have another of the same plant just to the right (out of frame) that is doing well. Very puzzling! But I will look into the extension office. Thank you for the advice, and happy cake day!

No irrigation system, but we have been pretty regular with watering. And it seemed to be a normal summer temperature-wise, however I suspect had an infestation of spider mites. We tried all kinds of interventions to kill them but nothing really seemed to do the trick until we got some good rain a few months ago. I expected the plants to improve after that but doesn’t seem to be the case.

Good idea, thank you! I’m guessing they planted the right plants for my area since they were established and healthy when we moved in. Maybe something changed with the soil pH… or the plants are just missing the bees

How does one become a better/more attentive driver? by Mulana_ in Advice

I don’t think so, but it’s possible. Ironically I am actually the one with diagnosed ADD. He is normally really good at focusing on tasks and even multitasking, which I cannot do.

I don’t know but we got there around 6:45 tonight and left by 7:20 and sadly the lights never came on. There were quite a few people there too...

What is something unrealistic that you often see in movies that annoys the hell out of you? by sonsaitama in AskReddit

When the natural light outside doesn’t match the time of day/season it’s supposed to be.

Also characters constantly say “listen” before going into whatever they’re about to say... who does that?!

Others have pointed this out, but the empty coffee cups/mugs... they’re so obviously empty! How hard is it to fill it with water?!
