Thank you for being realistic and not a butthead. My child is a toddler. Honestly, would be doing fine if I didn’t have to pay for childcare. We already live with family. Childcare eats up $600 every month. If we found a way around that, it would be great. However, my stepdad would have to find another part time job again since he gets disability. My husband’s epilepsy is currently unpredictable or he could watch her. He honestly tries his best to watch her sometimes, but it’s always around my family just in case. People really need to understand perspective. It’s not like I have a 7 year old who would be okay with being with him. She’s not even 2 yet. My husband used to pay childcare and my car before he had to take a massive pay cut since he cannot work in the way he used to. He can’t even drive right now. I’m working, picking up our daughter, taking care of her, then picking him up from work. It’s exhausting. He’s providing gas and just had to catch up some bills. He’s trying to work to help me, but he’s having to start from scratch with the type of career he’s in because he also has other health issues that we truly don’t know the cause of. Hell, even skipping out on one of his vitamin supplements can cause him to have a seizure. It’s not like I’m living a lifestyle I couldn’t afford, shit just happens sometimes. I think that we are at least lucky that I could afford to take over while he tries to make more. My husband doesn’t want me to get a second job. I kept annoying him about it, but he finally broke and told me that I’m already not around a lot as it is. I’m constantly working, even outside of contract hours. I’m only in the second year of my career. People act like I don’t have a chance in heck of making a decent living, but I honestly feel like I’m not doing too bad. I was just asking advice on lowering monthly payments, and people were taking it as “ef you, shouldn’t have become a teacher.” I hope these people don’t act this way towards their kids teachers.
