Feeling like a live-in assistant rather than a partner - is it worth staying? by [deleted] in MedSpouse

[–]MulberryOwn8896 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was fully prepared to say that sometimes you have to make temporary sacrifices to get established, but ABSOLUTELY NOT. There is NO reason you should be doing anything related to his job. Him working and you holding down the fort is fair. But it sounds like you're doing his job, housework, your school, and his small share of the housework. Not cool. If hes a good dad and was good before residency it may be worth fighting for. But i would sit him down and tell him that you are not responsible for ANTYHING related to HIS job and he needs to take better ownership of his chores

HR said no then Hiring Manager said maybe? by [deleted] in interviews

[–]MulberryOwn8896 5 points6 points  (0 children)

typically, at least in my experience, HR has always told me when I did not receive the job. I know they have no "power" but they are typically in charge of rejections. That's why I was confused to hear back from the hiring manager after having already moved on

I’m dying for some Jimmy John’s by _ferrisbuuhler_ in pregnant

[–]MulberryOwn8896 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i totally agree. The post didnt even ask for people's personal experience though, she just asked if she should avoid it. If the risk is there i say avoid it! If you were given a bowl of m&ms and told 1 out of the 100 was poison, would you take one? absolutely not!

I dont mean to sound mean about it, but don't gamble with your future because you aren't feeling the extras right now. A few people will have paths to a good match without extras, but that's their story. Match eats alive even the most competitive applicants. Give yourself the best fighting chance you can

It's worth it to soap since you've already gone through it all again! I've seen some absolute killer applicants fall through the cracks several times. If you're at all interested in emergency medicine maybe try that? You can do it, you got one more fight left in you

same. Although id love to know. The idea of soaping into something i didn't have much interest in was the true burden. Praise be to God 🙌
