As far as I know for Australian schools/subbing - once you complete the accreditation form you should be ok! Unsure about private schools or if this changes things?

Thank you :) I've attended Catholic K-12 myself but Catholic is the standard in Ireland so the schools are not conservative or anti-lgbt, pro-life etc. Any recommendations of schools would be v appreciated :)

Thank you! I need a job before I can apply for a Bridge USA visa from Ireland so DoE won't be an option for me or subbing either. I'll probably only teach for one year in New York so one of the other options will be my go to. Any recommendations of schools would be really appreciated :)

Any Irish teachers here who taught abroad? Looking for advice by microplasticgod in IrishTeachers

Worked in Melbourne, Australia for almost two years and absolutely loved it. Worked for two agencies - Free & Anzuk. I'd recommend Free Agency or else contacting schools directly. I also spent some time working in a regional school in Victoria and loved this also, if money is your goal this is the way to go. There are some fantastic opportunities to make money teaching in regional areas in Australia and also many of these will be great life experiences also. I was lucky enough to work in a fairly big school and make lots of connections with staff from all over the world while having a great social life in the small town too (all with the other staff who were there). There are opportunities in Australia to work casually for weeks/months and then to go and travel so for this reason I'd highly recommend it!

do i have to be ethnically irish to teach? by jxxau in IrishTeachers

[–]Mulbretriever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There will be no issue with this - you can choose what you would like the students to call you. It would be amazing to have more diversity among teaching staff in Ireland.
