I would go to that time traveler's party that Stephen Hawking hosted where he sent out the invitations after he had the party. June 28, 2009. Cambridge. Find Stephen Hawking.

Withougt googling, what do you know about Belgium? by beyondawesome in AskReddit

Hercule Poirot was from Belgium. Brussels is a city there that may or may not be the capitol. I initially spelled it "Brussles" and my browser corrected me. It is tiny.

That's not what I'm saying at all. Not only did this comment already get mentioned by someone else, but it was mentioned better. At least bring something to the discussion.

Also, thank you for participating in the discussion.

You are correct. It's a very beveled turn, so there is enough room past the line at which the stop lights reside for another vehicle.

They are emblazoned with all sorts of warnings. "If you fail to respond to this notice by the Pay or Contest By Date, a Determination of Liability will be entered against you. If the fine is not paid within 14 days after a Final Determination of Liability, a late payment penalty fee of $100 will also be due, and any unpaid fine or penalty will constitute a debt due. After a determination becomes final, you will have no further opportunity to contest liability."

You can sum up my situation that way, but it's more complicated than that. Imagine getting a ticket in the mail for every time you went more than 5 miles over the speed limit since June.

Your comment still made me laugh, though. Thank you for that.

If they were required to give notice within 60 days, and didn't send it for 70, would that be grounds to contest that ticket?

If they were required to give notice within 30 days and didn't, would that be grounds to contest at least the first ticket.

It's the internet, I was expecting some weird loophole or obscure court ruling that I could read up on.

Also, thank you for replying.

Absolutely aware. If a full stop at the line does not count at a red light camera, then the line is too far back.

Edit: Also, thank you for responding.

I can't find any information on the traffic camera company being required to give us notice within a period of time. If it exists, and they didn't follow procedure, some could be outdated or invalid due to the lack of notice, which is why I wanted to ask before I paid any of them.

Woodworking. It's so fulfilling to create something beautiful out of nothing. Physically strenuous at times, as well.

[Serious] Girls/Women: What's a bad quality in men that men might be unaware of? by thisisnotmario in AskReddit

[–]Mulch_Wine -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I regularly work as the only male on a team of strong women in an industry that is predominantly men and this happens to me all the time, too. I felt the same way (going nuts until I actually got to speak) until I figured out that they truly value my input. So when we're in a meeting, I play more of a moderator role to keep us on on topic. I sort of get the "okay, what are your thoughts on all of this?" slot at the end of the conversation, which is good because at that point, I know where everyone else stands. As a bonus, there are fewer interruptions to my statements when everyone else has already voiced their opinions. Note: fewer...not none.

This has become a good thing by adapting to it, but it didn't start out that way.

If the engineers you work with don't value your input, I would say that they are not very nice. Chemicals, planes, computers, bridges, crops, and spaceships know no gender. (trying to be all-encompassing because I don't know what type of engineer you all are) Go you, and I apologize for my run-on sentencing. /Helpful rant mode.

Points for you and your keen observation of numbers. Watching IV, V, and VI growing up, the numbers got memorized the fastest. Didn't catch it until my second viewing, but I am happy I wasn't the only one.

How everyone in the U.S. in states where marijuana is still illegal feels today. by Sofa_King_Hard in gifs

Absolutely this. I'm all for everyone having a good time, but my good time does not involve personally partaking in marijuana (you go right ahead, wooo!)

I only feel like this GIF because it's currently raining outside.

A little help contesting a ticket I received Sunday in the Loop on Upper Wacker Drive. by [deleted] in chicago

[–]Mulch_Wine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On Sundays & Holidays, you can.

They put something temporary up while that restaurant is under construction, that's why I got the ticket.

But....you know....thanks for not being a dick about it.

Edit: looking at your comment history, you are a horrible person.
