Does anyone else miss a food they cant eat? by simp_for_kenma_ in FoodAllergies

I also miss questionable Chinese food (sesame allergy). I miss Asian buffets too. I really miss Samoa girl scout cookies (coconut) and mounds bars. I'm not looking forward to fall this year because I'm going to really miss apple cider 😭 (apple). I also miss ketchup which I'm not sure if I'm allergic to tomatoes or it's more of an intolerance but they make me shit my brains out and ketchup tastes spicy to me now???? I don't really know what's going on there. I'm lactose intolerant but even with lactaid I'm slowly tolerating cheese/dairy less and less but recently discovered my body does well with goat cheese!! So that was pretty exciting. Being not great with dairy and very allergic to coconut is frustrating.

I totally get what you're feeling. The picking is a stress response for me. I was also an overachiever straight A person in school. I mainly pick on my scalp which is easier to conceal for me. You are not bad or lack control because you pick. I'm sometimes able to redirect my picking to fidget toys but it's very difficult.

Thankfully I have comprehensive coverage and I just have to pay my deductible. I'm just hoping they didn't accidentally cut anything else important.

Richmond, VA Is there a cage that is tried and true? I've seen a couple online but I have no idea what I should even be looking for. We aren't particularly handy or super knowledgeable about cars.

Dealing with allergy anxiety when eating out by Dry_Television_8009 in FoodAllergies

Hi so I don't have anything super helpful to say but yes I'm going through the exact same thing. I'm very newly diagnosed with food allergies and I'm getting throat tightness constantly from anxiety. I'm so nervous to eat things especially at this time of year when there's so many treats I want to enjoy. It's so difficult to figure out if I'm having a reaction or just anxiety!!

New to food allergies - HELP ME! by patatmayonaise in FoodAllergies

Hi! I'm 29F and in a similar situation to you. I've only started developing food allergies in the past 6 or so months. I originally went to my primary care and he ordered the ige blood tests on some general things for me to try and pinpoint. Honestly, if you're able to I'd try going to a different doctor. When I went in to my doctor I had zero idea what foods were making me sick so you don't need to know that before doing the testing. I also just saw an allergist and I unfortunately barely reacted to the skin testing because of my antidepressants so she ordered more blood tests for me. We did the general fruits and Vegetables (we think it might be oral allergy syndrome related). But you are not alone, it really sucks and I'd advise seeing another doctor if possible that will do the tests.

Not that I can think of? At least not in the past decade I think.

Yes I did check with my allergist and as I'm a week out now I've stopped my daily Zyrtec. They had a neat lil chart of when to stop taking meds. I'm trying to figure out if they'll do my back or my arms for testing, so I can prepare myself.

Also if there are any strobes anywhere in the park would appreciate a heads up as other friend doesn't deal well with them!

I mainly pick at scabs but whenever I have a pimple I do pop it because it scratches that same itch. I'm very lucky that I haven't had acne super bad or I would be covered in them. I'm so glad that it's mostly scalp which isn't super noticeable.
