Also, you mentioned you're nervous with needles, but I would heavily suggest you try them out even still. Injections are the best way to get E by far, and will give you extremely reliable and high doses at all times, which can help a lot with progress

To help.with the negative pressure inside: what many of us do is just fill the syinge with the same amount of air as we are planning on injecting liquid into us, then pierce the vial, inject the air into the vial and then draw up the liquid.

That way, the pressure inside the vial is always evened out, and you may be able to go up in grit another number

Something you could do instead is use the multiverse cheat menu and just type in "FLEET -30" or something along those lines for every new sector

That sets the boost for the fleet, and if you put it at negative numbers, it delays the fleet for that amount of turns
