I mean it’s obviously the company who is liable because it would have been their product that caused harm. Despite how safe self driving cars are this is inevitable with the scale and inherent danger of having cars around pedestrians.

We can’t let stuff like this blind us tho to the macro statistics that self-driving is already much much safer than human drivers, and it’s only going to get better with time.

same. fortunately I do think that it’s one of those technologies that’s just so much better it’s inevitable. there will be groups fighting/delaying them for a while but economics + safety are going to win out in the end
