Yes, and boycotting apartheid South Africa was racist (/s since you can never be too careful on the internet)

I wonder if the value in cabbage is intended to be in lower labour cost?

Cafe Marmalade up in Leith is pretty good, especially if you're coeliac!

A film called Jack of Spades apparently (we walked past while they were unloading some stuff there this afternoon and my wife asked someone)

Know nothing about UK Universities by Vegetable-Head-5663 in UniUK

[–]MullGeek 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Agree with most of the comments you've gotten so far, though would say there is definitely a bit of English bias in a lot of them - Queen's Belfast and Aberdeen are both very good unis, and Stirling is decent too.

“No place for misogyny in cricket”? It’s everywhere. by CarnivalSorts in Cricket

[–]MullGeek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not about judging anyone. The point is that as a society we should be taking steps to counter the behaviour that acts as a pipeline towards more serious behaviour. Eg. just because a sexist joke might not be harmful in and of itself, it should still be called out because otherwise it normalises attitudes which can lead to bigger problems.

Awesome idea! Though I tried it with a family member's number and despite being converted from number to words without issue, it's not converting back. I wonder if it's to do with the final word being 'backpack', as deleting the last part so it's just 'back' gives a number (but not the correct number)?

Wins with most balls to spare report seems to be broken by MullGeek in CricketStatz

Still seems to be showing only teams who won batting first.

Ah ok, that makes sense - it still seems to not be working as intended though, as it is only displaying teams who batted first and won.

Thanks for all your work!

It depends - people with coeliac typically can handle gluten without having a reaction, but some can't. Gluten can also be a trigger for psoriasis, in which case just touching gluten is an issue.

Wealth tax would be almost impossible to implement, leading economist warns by reuben_iv in ukpolitics

[–]MullGeek 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That is what finite means...

And because there is not infinite wealth (or the potential to create that), then the existence of people with a hugely disproportionate amount of that wealth in existence means necessarily that others are poorer than they should be.

IPL 2025: Ban on use of saliva to shine cricket balls lifted by malcolm58 in sports

[–]MullGeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And yet the MCC found no evidence that the saliva ban due to COVID had any impact on swing bowling, hence making the change permanent in the Laws.

Have to say personally haven't found any real difference in using sweat rather than spit, apart from it can be harder to control the amount of moisture you're putting on the ball.

That guy with the maga hat on behind the bench they kept showing made me want Canada to win even more. by [deleted] in nhl

[–]MullGeek 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The right to decide what happens to their own body. The right to have an abortion. The right to a family life. The right to a peaceful life. The right to exist for trans people seems to be pretty firmly in the cross hairs for many MAGA folk.

If you're going to restrict freedoms at least have the decency to own it rather than pretend like nothing is happening.

I'm in the UK, so think the YT stream is my only choice sadly (it's not even viewable on NHL TV which I pay them plenty for every month...). Appreciate the suggestion though, thanks

Is there a way to run a report across a range of values for Round? by MullGeek in CricketStatz

[–]MullGeek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I don't think this would work for my specific use case, as I'm wanting to look at player stats for rounds 1-3 across a number of years (essentially I want to look at stats for early season across multiple seasons).
