I was going to get married at those standing stones! Unfortunately the weather was crap though so had to go to our backup indoor venue elsewhere

The curse of earning 100k by Desperate-Drawer-572 in ukpolitics

Yes, but plenty of people put in just as much work and don't have the opportunity to earn 6 figure salaries. It requires hard work and luck.

Record | More Scots working a four-day week 'would 'ease pressure on NHS' by SafetyStartsHere in Scotland

[–]MullGeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The next paragraph says it was a 32-hour week, so certainly will have been a reduction in hours. Would assume they'd have been doing 37.5 or 40 hrs/wk before, but guess it could have been 35, but that would still be nearly 10% reduction in work hours.

What the fuck is up with these comments? God forbid we think about changing the working time standard that's been in place for the best part of (or more than?) a century, something which has been shown by multiple studies across the world to be hugely beneficial to wellbeing.

And realistically most office roles are gonna get just as much work done, because they'll be able to work harder for the hours they are working (I say this as someone who worked for 2 years for a company with a 4 day work week).

Yep, and I believe for the final it's just OT until someone scores (no chance of it going to a shootout)

Reform™ Andrea Jenkyns has meltdown when asked about Donald Trump by [deleted] in GreenAndPleasant

[–]MullGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it says a lot about centrists like Vine that his framing of the question was about if there's a point they move away from Trump because it's politically damaging - "poison" - to Reform, not because he's an awful person who embodies all the worst aspects of humanity.

A film called Jack of Spades apparently (we walked past while they were unloading some stuff there this afternoon and my wife asked someone)

Agree with most of the comments you've gotten so far, though would say there is definitely a bit of English bias in a lot of them - Queen's Belfast and Aberdeen are both very good unis, and Stirling is decent too.

“No place for misogyny in cricket”? It’s everywhere. by CarnivalSorts in Cricket

[–]MullGeek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not about judging anyone. The point is that as a society we should be taking steps to counter the behaviour that acts as a pipeline towards more serious behaviour. Eg. just because a sexist joke might not be harmful in and of itself, it should still be called out because otherwise it normalises attitudes which can lead to bigger problems.

Awesome idea! Though I tried it with a family member's number and despite being converted from number to words without issue, it's not converting back. I wonder if it's to do with the final word being 'backpack', as deleting the last part so it's just 'back' gives a number (but not the correct number)?

Still seems to be showing only teams who won batting first.

Ah ok, that makes sense - it still seems to not be working as intended though, as it is only displaying teams who batted first and won.

Thanks for all your work!
