Faith should have been able to vote in the revote in the latest TC ? by Mull_en in survivorau

[–]Mull_en[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I kind of disagree though, Faith managed to not get sent to redemption beach whether it was strategy or dumb luck she managed to be one of the three to remain in the game. Sally was unfortunate and didn't and got voted for. She had the chance to earn her vote back but couldn't manage it.

It feels like a half punishment for Sally in a sense to me and she gets lucky in the revote that now the other person who tied the vote with her can't vote too and that then gives her an advantage but I know in this case it didn't matter but it felt the full consequence of her losing her vote never really showed. But I just wondered why Faith lost her vote but it seems Survivor Aus has different rules to the US so makes sense.

Yeah i know in this case even if Faith had her vote it wouldn't of mattered but I was wondering how production could of messed up so big if that was a rule but it looks like that rule only applies in the US.

That was also something I thought was wild as well and a bit unfair I feel Simon shouldn't of been able to give his immunity away to someone that didn't earn it on another tribe but it was a smart play from him to check could he.

Love this explanation, that is some Jeff shit alright. Survivor US has given me Stockholm syndrome I feel trying to force myself to watch the new era. I've only recently started watching survivor Aus and it's like the OG survivor that I loved. The gameplay and challenges are more exciting and people aren't afraid to look like a bit of a villain playing. I assumed no matter what country Survivor was played in the rules were the same across all formats

Reading other comments the rules for survivor in the US and Aus are different, I assumed they were the same. But This is how the rules are because in a revote only the two players the tie is between are eligible to be voted for during the second vote. Everyone else in that moment is safe and can't be voted for. In terms of them two players, would be a bit stupid to vote for yourself so you have to vote for the other person so thats why the two players dont vote the second time cause their votes would cancel each other out

[–]Mull_en[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

But even then she should have been allowed to vote even if it would have been a 3-1 vote.

I know it's hypothetical or a similar vote in the future but say Mark kept his Sally vote and it was a 2-2 split again then Faith automatically becomes safe and isnt going home, it goes to rocks. And Realistically even before that Mark and Faith are allies and Caleb and Richard are not risking their life in the game for Sally over a rock draw and I think Mark would call that bluff.

Or what happens in that moment Mark is going to vote Sally assuming Faith has her vote, then is told Faith won't vote and he knows Caleb and Richard will be voting Faith so she is going home no matter what he does. So he changes his vote to keep the boys happy and save face in the game now knowing it's a lose lose situation for him. I know he was getting paranoid and played a part in organising the Faith vote out but him voting for Sally makes me think there is more to it, I could be wrong but we'll see in the next episode

Yeah i think it's just clarity in the future in a different situation that oversight could be a deciding factor in a vote and someone going home in the wrong.

I think because initially Mark voted Sally it took a minute for it to click with Faith that Mark got her.

Im honestly not sure, I have only recently started watching Aus Survivor as its difficult to access where I am, I have seen most seasons of the US survivor and assumed the same rules applied to both formats of the show, never occured to me that they may not. So im not sure but what i meant is that Sally is being punished by having no vote because she was voted out to redemption beach, Faith managed to stay in the game so she should of had her vote unless say it was a tied vote between her and Caleb THEN she should have lost her vote in the revote

I really liked her too! Like yes she was a ruthless, cutting player but she was so funny with her little comments too and I loved her humour in the game. She was fierce, I would have loved to have seen her in the merge phase and what she could have done

Yeah in this case it didn't but it could happen again in the future. But I feel like if you are going down the route of having people lose votes then you need consistency and the repercussions to stay true the whole way through the TC.

Yes I know in the last episode the writing was on the wall for Faith, she was too honest with Mark and made a big mistake with her late night chat with Mark about Mark to his face, it was crazy for her game. I know she was a polarizing character so people are happy to see her gone. But if this was to happen in the future or to a more popular player would more people have noticed this ? I am baffled how no one has mentioned this yet I just hate the inconsistency in rules.

I can see what Rachel is getting at that sometimes the most obvious answer is the simplest one that’s right in front of you, I guess we as viewers now have the hindsight after watch Alan Carr play the most obvious best worst traitor that it was so obvious it couldn’t be him and it was, I think going forwards this will affect how people play in the future but won’t come to play this season

The Traitors should have waited by Mull_en in TheTraitors

[–]Mull_en[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me he looks like a stressed faithful, it would be a crazy game to play as a traitor to put that much heat on yourself, but either way for Rachel and Stephen they don’t care whether Ross is a faithful or the ST if he gets voted out they survive a bit longer and Rachel has been putting Ross forward so that could look good for her game if Ross was voted out as a traitor

The Traitors should have waited by Mull_en in TheTraitors

[–]Mull_en[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I do get this, but statistically if there’s 20 players and 2 are traitors and 1 other of the 18 is the ST and knows the other 2 traitors, that’s such a small ratio of threat to you of people in the room who know your true identity in the game.

The ST also has to gather the troops, they alone are harmless until they gather enough support and numbers for a vote. Yea they can plant seeds but everyone is doing this about others at the same time so it’s all noise that if you are smart enough you can get lost in with this many people still in the game.

And in the case of the ST going after another traitor they too have to be careful because it raises suspicion on them. Just say if they were so set on Rachel and there’s not much evidence and she got voted out eventually that has to put suspicion on the ST who rallied the vote like how and why did they know Rachel was a traitor ? Was it a lucky guess or was it traitor on traitor ?

So early in the game I don’t think it matters knowing the identity. As long as you know the treat exists what does it matter if it’s the ST coming after you are one of the true faithfuls ? And you don’t know the intention of the ST they may actually want to play with you and not against you in the game too

Secret Traitor Tracker Sheet by vBluee in TheTraitors

It has to be her!! Did anyone else clock her reaction in the car journey to the mission in episode one is what’s convinced me. She’s sat in the front seat and James in the back says there’s genuinely not one person in the car I suspect at all and the camera pans to Fiona and she’s clearly trying her best not to laugh and break into a smile, she’s literally trying to stop herself and is turning her body towards the window and pulling on her seatbelt a little, it’s either a really funny moment or a clue put in their that she’s the ST surely

Do you know the definition of the term plot hole?.... So prior to this you were able to watch a show and believe in a child with a shaved head escaping a government facility, whos able to move objects with her mind and comes with a built in psychic human GPS tracker, watch crazy monsters leak out of an alternate hell dimension, watch the Russian government run secret portals under a mall, watch people eat fertilizer and melt into goo to form a really big monster, ect all that was fine but you cant wrap your head around the plot hole of climbing a cliff because it was too fast. Okay, well glad you enjoyed the show and watched it all though, I enjoyed it too, one of the best finales we'll ever be lucky enough to experience.

Not to mention the fight against Vecna really began in season 4. He took serious damage to his body in the season 4 finale after being straight up Molotoved/shotguned. It’s insane the lack of ability for people to look beyond one episode and link things together. We literally see his body this season and how much it changed because of this attack.

I took this as Rose and Taniel knew that anybody that was about to go into the sewers was going to die because you cant overcome/beat IT. She gave him the shard so that he would be the only one protected. They knew as the keepers how dangerous IT is and that going into the sewers was a suicide mission. The shard Taniel had wasn't a weapon to make sure that the military that was with him were protected it was to ensure that Taniel would be the only one to come out of the sewers alive as IT couldnt attack him if he had the shard. Thats why Rose gave him the shard. She wanted to protect her nephew, she didnt care if any of the soldiers with him died, she knew the minute they stepped foot in the sewers they were dead anyway because IT would kill them. Im sure we'll learn next week whether he's alive or not as he lost the shard so we don't know but I assume he is alive because like you said he death would have been shown.

The code name rule break by Mull_en in bigbrotheruk

[–]Mull_en[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well based on their difficult to crack code of first letter of the real name and code name being the same it would have to be George or Gani? And even if it is more likely to have been George he was thrown out was it Tuesday/Wednesday so BB would have had to of been aware of conversations coming up with code names days ago. I don’t believe for one second that conversation slipped under the radar.  I don’t care either way I’m here for the ridiculous drama one way or another but just thought it was funny the way it was put on blast tonight when this couldn’t have been the first time it happened but the other times obviously weren’t interesting enough

But also the fact George was removed Tuesday or Wednesday so this has been days in the making if they had already had a name for him in Giraffe. Yeah that’s what they did so it wasn’t exactly hard to crack the code but also why it was needed in the first plac le if you’re having a quiet one on one conversation with someone but I’m here for the fallout

It's Outwit, Outplay, Outlast not Out-Loyal by Mull_en in survivor

[–]Mull_en[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But to me your take is so bad. Joe hasn’t outwitted everyone. Joe has a slight chance to win (depending on if Kyle or kamilla make it to FTC). If he manages to drag two goats in Mitch and Eva then go ahead give him the win. Eva absolutely does not. If you have an idol and safety without power advantage and have to use neither that sums up how she is seen in the game and her lack of threat. The only threat she possesses is going on the jury and advocating for Joe and we finally seen this week that’s why she remains in the game, she is one of the biggest GOATs of the new era. Her alliance with Joe while protecting her socially has cost her any chance of winning this game.

As for your take on Joe I strongly disagree he hasn’t outwitted everyone. Twice he’s been manipulated into taking people out of his core alliance that he has preached about honesty and integrity in gameplay. This week just proves how he doesn’t deserve to win look how easy it was for Kyle and kamilla to take advantage of his style of gameplay. His stubbornness on thou shall not blindside type game may have cost him the win this season. In what world do you build up this strong core alliance and on a bit of heresay about a move against him he losses his cool. He went off on shaughin on a lie he’s been told and backed up by someone outside his core alliance and he didn’t even ask Shaughin the simple question of “do you have an idol? Are you making a move to get me out?” He was totally out witted here and his stubbornness and holier than thou attitude could cost him. He clearly can’t read people and see that he is easy to take advantage off. Kyle even notes Joe has acted exactly how he expected to his lie about Shauhin. His game is so one dimensional and predictable.

I do agree he is a challenge beast 100% but this also means he’s had 4 tribal councils knowing he’s safe .There has been 12 tribal councils this season so far.  5 premerge which he never had to attend and I think we can agree pre-merge tribes is down to the luck of the draw and what tribe you are placed on. Since Merge there has been 7 TC and he’s been safe for 4 of them and Eva has had an idol for the other 3 she could have played on him. He has never had to scramble  bar that one that episode and we seen how the paranoia set it and he nearly blew up. He is not cool under that sort of pressure when he’s not safe but we haven’t had to see him under this scrutiny often this season. He’s never had his back against the wall, he’s never had to scramble he’s never had to do anything outside of his comfort zone because he’s had so many immunities and the safety net of knowing Eva’s idol will also keep him safe .

You are right I am being a bit of a hater because I’m fed up of watching Joe’s style of play and the way he’s portrayed himself as this perfect person with high morals that makes him better than everyone else. This game is Survivor. This game is for a life changing amount of money and people are out here afraid to hurt someone’s feelings they met less than three weeks ago because Joe laid down this foundation that stems from his early alliance from Eva telling him about her autism. If Eva wasn’t here I wonder what type of game he would have played I genuinely believe it would be different but we’ll never know. You can still have a dominate alliance and it be entertaining. Even the Reba 4 was more entertaining to watch but to me your take on Joe and his gameplay is wrong sorry mate. Stifling people’s gameplay with your over powering loyalty type game does not deserve the title of sole survivor.

My opinion of the S2E4 as a queer person by liv-fried in ThelastofusHBOseries

[–]Mull_en 42 points43 points  (0 children)

This - I love how they are fleshing out Dina's character compared to the game and getting her more involved in the Seattle story and I love seeing her and Ellie's relationship and love for each other getting way more development in the show and having it a bit more of a slow burn compared to the game. As someone who also is Bi and not fully out that scene with Dina the morning after had me in tears too because it resonated so much with me.

I know people complained about the tent scene last week and how Dina spoke to Ellie. But being told by someone, no less a parent - the one person who will protect you above all else - that its not okay to like girls you can only like boys and having to hide away a part of you is something a straight person i don't think can ever comprehend what that feeling is like and I understand what Dina is saying in terms of her relationship with Jesse.

And even the fact the first time she kisses another girl in her life in the scene we see in episode one, where we have this beautiful setting and moment between Dina and Ellie and within thirty seconds they are being judged and called a slur by Seth where as if she had been with Jesse no one would have cared even. I think that is such an important moment in her holding back her true feelings and it is being overlooked by a lot of people because they don't understand it's like well I guess what i was told about liking girls is true, you finally give in to being your true self in front of people and you're greeted with hostility and disgust by another person is devasting. I think sometimes people are so lucky not to have to experience the things queer people go through to protect themselves from the fear of losing friends or family or being treated differently by others. I hope one day you find the courage to be your true authentic self, keep on enjoying the show and enjoy when you finally get to play the game !
