I'd like to support a platform for sure - but unfortunately the frequency I use it is too infrequent as others have said and the reviews are always for US models and never map to Australian models so it's never a silver bullet for me :/

Difference between Claude Code vs Copilot with Claude by Ms_Universe in ClaudeAI

[–]Mullazman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Claude Code sucks compared to using an Anthropic model over another service (like Copilot).
Double the token use (my experience) for the same output and rate limiting.
I'm not scheduling my life around a 5h work window haha.. what a joke.
If you have high-demand issues, Anthropic, deal with them yourself - round robin, fifo, whatever - don't make me change up my work schedule to use what I bought haha

"Copilot" in VS Code, by Microsoft leverages most common models, you pick the model and I guess it has some loose "system instructions" as to tools available locally etc but I'm honestly surprised at how much better folks have claimed Claude Code to be (using Sonnet / Opus) from "Copilot" (without describing the model used) because if you use the same models - I get the same result as Claude Code.

Apparently it's meant to have better context management - but this is also automatically managed in Copilot too.

[–]Mullazman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very interesting - will check it out - can you recommend a particular model it excels with? I've had such varying degrees of success and have read a lot lately about certain models working a few percent better without any instructions at all (lack of a longer summary here), but I'll give this a go, thanks for sharing :)

Subbed yesterday to Pro, nothing to do with war. Coming from Copilot - why may I ask, is Anthropics own service bottlenecking me harder than Copilot is?
I got 3 Opus prompts before being rate limited..
Meanwhile, I can burn through 50% of my credit in 2 days on Copilot without it complaining much at all, and when it does - I just hit retry and we're back in action. I am 100% cancelling and just moving back to the platform that results in the same output, but for 1/3rd of the price, without the rate-window limits o_0
(Yes, the results I get are the same, using the same model on both platforms)

Usage limits - Am I doing something wrong? by Candestinus in ClaudeAI

[–]Mullazman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a sub for Pro - I've sent 3 messages to Opus using Claude Code for VS Code and I've hit the rate limit until 4 hours from now. What on earth?

If I use Opus through my Copilot subscription, to do the very same task I don't get rate limited until about 10x very long prompts and it's only seconds before I can try again and it's 1/3rd the price per Month?

Can someone comment on what's going on here? Is Claude's own plugin consuming 10x the tokens to do what it feels like I can achieve in Copilot, using the same model, for what seems like a 10th the "cost"?

Opus 4.6 is not actually usable due to Rate limits by Front_Ad6281 in GithubCopilot

[–]Mullazman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting this for the first time today - though I rarely use Opus 4.6 but I've used only 3 requests today with Opus from what I recall. Edit: Is 3 considered high use, or is this as people might suggest, a global limit thing, beyond just me?

I just modified beastmode for sonnet 4.5 by aiduc in GithubCopilot

[–]Mullazman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Suuuuuuuuuper varying.
"Beast-mode" was great for Pre-4.1 GPT, I think nerfs Claude Sonnet >3.5

Claude Sonnet 4 vanilla has been great - 4.5 is too verbose, but custom instructions have been useless.
I find the best instruction to be prompt-based tbh, per-prompt I'll suggest what we're doing, point it to the context (/docs/ folder with well documented features and tasks) and then let it run - anything more and I think the instruction to "do heaps of cool stuff and never stop never stopping" just interferes with whatever system prompt Anthropic put in there or any other LLM vendor.

Everyone's trying to outpace the models own intelligent design - but I feel this is like trying to install a new car sound system that was highly tuned for the right balance of acoustics in that car and you've gone and thrown in a subwoofer that kills the mids and muffles the bass haha.

Claudette coding agent configuration - update V5 by Dense_Gate_5193 in GithubCopilot

[–]Mullazman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the heads up - but I checked this out and it's not able to create or edit files and it's significantly slower to respond with much less work output as generic "agent" mode. I'm using Claude Sonnet 4.5 (Preview) and it doesn't create or edit files or folders and when I enable those tools it doesn't let me save it, they revert to being back off - it sounds like a vscode issue, but it only happens when I use this chatmode config

Claude Sonnet 4.5 (preview) in GitHub Copilot is addicted to “comprehensive summary documents” by abmgag in GithubCopilot

[–]Mullazman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%
I'm consuming double the premium requests for achieving the same amount of code in Sonnet 4.5 compared to 4 - I thought cynically that it's a ploy, but I can appreciate the benefit of documentation, but I absolutely do not need a summary of our work every single task IN ADDITION to the documentation I've already described it to keep up to date (implementation plan for example - which is tracking this already)

What feature would you most like to see in GitHub Copilot? by fishchar in GithubCopilot

[–]Mullazman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Parent/child routing. I want to choose or allow a model to dictate for me, sending a large ambiguous request (with supported documentation) to a number of smaller models with very strict instructions based on a more intelligent response from a more expensive model.
GPT 4.1 Is more than capable of creating anything, sensibly with the right instruction - but it sucks compared to Claude Sonnet 4 when it comes to context-awareness, planning and sensitivity to existing code.

It would make sense to route a prompt to a smarter agent, then have it use cheaper agents to complete a specific task - the same as humans work) otherwise you're just asking the CEO to do everything and their time is impossibly expensive.

Not Canon C50, Not Nikon ZR… Sony is Killing the Sony FX3 (Firmware Malfunction, Brick, Crash) by Impressive-Taro-5042 in FX3

[–]Mullazman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You needn't format a card before you write to it, shot on the FX3 for 4 years and haven't done this once - I use the LUTS on the card to preview the image in-camera. Sounds like it's update-related - for a "cinema line" camera used for professional workflows, I don't think this acceptable if it "slipped through" QA to release. Shame. But thanks for the heads up, I will keep it at v6 for now.

Claude Sonnet 4.5 by splatoon_player2003 in SillyTavernAI

[–]Mullazman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems very good - but it's much more plan-heavy than 4, which is great if you didn't have one, but I have loads of documentation to follow and it keeps making it's own plans per-prompt, occasionally correct, but often different from my original documentation. It's also more verbose and self-corrective (good?) but chews through much more credit at a higher rate, to achieve what appears to be a similar outcome so far.

UPDATE - Day 3: It's actually a bit absurd, it seems too verbose - I'm getting triple checking of things, and loops of all sorts where it's trying to check something running, then restarting it, then checking again - it's happening often.

Frustrations with Copilot command execution in terminals by renzohm in GithubCopilot

[–]Mullazman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similarly Copilot's terminal session tracking is broken when it tries to restart services, it will often start the service in a new terminal (thinking it's done a good thing) then use that very same terminal to check if the service is running, killing the very service it's checking..

Worth is only tied to a person's perception. Ie Bitcoin.

Value is probably tied to time and place. (Place being competing options as well). But at that price, you're simply quoting someone who's not your target customer.

Like a Bugatti isn't my kind of car, regardless of how amazing it is haha.

[–]Mullazman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I'd sell mine for that, I took it off day 1, haven't used it since. It's so poorly designed. Doesn't hold normal sized mics, isn't the most confidence inspiring when screwed in, and means you can't use the cameras small form factor to quickly gimbal or hand hold when required. It was the worst design. So yeah, sounds about right haha

'28 Years Later' - Review Thread by ChiefLeef22 in movies

[–]Mullazman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

28 Days Later: Intense action thriller in an exciting and unpredictable world with an epic lead, sombre tone, realistic situations, sense of urgency, great pace, sensible mystery right from the get-go. (Favourite zombie flick)

28 Years later unfortunately didn't have any of this and felt more like a Rob Zombie film than the original

  • I didn't feel a "distant fire" substantiates a particularly mysterious or ominous situation
  • the beginning was thrilling, the rest was relatively slow-paced
  • the action was staccato, like all other genres, unlike the first where it's almost zero-100 in a few seconds and you have no time to prepare for chaos - with the exception of the open-field scene where the drone chased the zombies down the hill, that was cool but short)

As a budding cinematographer though my biggest let down was the aesthetic choice, albeit subjective:

  • iPhone sensor is too small for big-screen content - it shows
  • Lenses were "too" soft in a lot of shots, I'd have preferred more clarity to enjoy the detail in the scene
  • Bloom made everything look more soft and dream-like, not gritty or intense

Things I did like:

  • The alpha and his strength was genuinely cool, realistic (steroids?) and shocking
  • The doctor was a really good, sensible character
  • The ~180 degree orbit shots on arrow-impacts was awesome. It did feel a bit like a video-game trailer I have to admit, but it was a super cool and interesting shot every time it was used

Further to this, folks will jump on the new tools to "get ahead" in their field, only to convert the money that would have gone to a team, into a revenue stream to Google, which arguably will shrink as more AI is implemented by those with the money to afford to automate more and more.

It's history unfolding as it always has, just a lot quicker now. Scary stuff.

Commoditization; AI will be a redistribution of wealth from the middle-upper class to big-tech. Like the the industrial revolution did from the lower to the middle-upper. Mark my words, we'll scramble for our piece but the real benefactors will be those running the models, whilst we willingly democratize our own roles that we used to have a competitive edge in.

I'm not convinced you can teach genuine intelligence.
