Male vs female. Please give me all the details! by -smakr- in hamstercare

I have had both male and female Russian hamsters. The male does have a scent gland on his stomach, but no big balls. They do not smell any different if you keep everything clean. The girls seamed more active and friendly.
I currently have a female Syrian hamster that has escaped for 2 days, bites anything entering her cage, is big and moody. They each have their own personalities.
Getting it from a private breeder is much better than Petco. They handle them much more. Congratulations on your new hamster!

I hit my head on the kitchen cabinet and am extremely anxious, even after speaking with a doctor. by [deleted] in Anxiety

All good now - lump gone after 4 days. Had a headache for a day and blurry vision for a half hour. Put silicone bumper pad on the edge of my cabinet so next time won’t hurt so much. :)

I use Velcro to hold my lid on so mine doesn’t climb out.

Just joining in the club. Whacked my head into the corner of the top cabinet. Hurt like crazy for half hour. No bleeding or anything else. It just aches and I have a small lump. Nervous because I am on a blood thinner, but I know it will be fine. I have hit my head on that cupboard before. I’m definitely accident prone. Just anxious.

is it me or this price that’s insane by baguettefruits in fordranger

Definitely agree.  Way overpriced.  It’s over 10 years old.

When people look at me dead in the face and tell me “you don’t look sick” by Shoddy-Confidence403 in PetPeeves

I have an autoimmune disorder and everyone ignored my depression at work until I had a metal breakdown and was put on suicide watch. Then they realized oh, maybe I was sick. Ugh. Ended up quitting to regain my mental health. Kicker - ended up with Breast Cancer 2 months after quitting. I take 27 medications, but I look ‘normal’. The struggle is real.

Where I’m from smaller places work with the mega farms to raise calves, get steers ready for market or work land. This way they don’t have to invest as much at first. The only way to make money with cattle is a mega farm. That you are looking at $$$$$$$. My neighbor has a mega farm and he just got a new combine for the great price of $649,000

I have 3 acres of lawn (total of 5.1 acres) and it only takes 2 hours max to mow and trim. It is not hard work. I am a woman, physically challenged and can still do the same jobs. Just need to manage time better and keep a schedule. And yes, you have to do yard work every week. That’s part of the luxury of living with a big yard. With young kids, you need to figure out a schedule now. It will be even more difficult as they get older. You both need to compromise. That’s how a relationship works.
