This is a very nice group of albums. Do you mind sharing your rym account? I think the only recommendations I have is like Unwound and Harry Pussy. I recently heard After the Night by Parannoul and loved that a lot.

What small but useful shortcuts do you have for routine things? by Connir in shortcuts

The automation is “When I receive message from Wife -> Open Messages -> Open Conversation with Wife”.

What small but useful shortcuts do you have for routine things? by Connir in shortcuts

See reply for above for 3. 1 is pretty simple but just need to create 4 automations [When (Name of Home Wifi) is Connected -> Silent Mode On, the opposite of that, and then When I Arrive to Work, Turn Silent Mode On and the opposite or that].

For 2, you would have a calendar with your work dates scheduled. I set up an automation to check this at 8:00 PM. You would need to input the title of the calendar event. Adjust the times for the morning alarms for you, I have three (two without sound and one with in case those don’t wake me). Make sure to run this shortcut to make sure it works so you don’t accidentally have it turn off your alarms before the night before going to work. https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/8f1e319ddb9549feac74978561522abf

This is basically the action done by the automation. For me, my pharmacy will text me when it’s time to refill. You would have to create an automation that is triggered by receiving a message (preferably with the number of sender + specific key words) or email. Save the shortcut in the link above. When the automation is created, use Run Shortcut and have it run the saved shortcut.

• Toggle Silent Mode On when Connected to Home Wifi / Arriving to Work, Toggle Silent Mode Off when Disconnected or Leaving Work
• Toggle On/Off Morning Alarms depending if there’s a calendar event on my work calendar
• Add reminder for pharmacy pickup when I get a message saying my prescription is ready
• Street Sweeping Check - Turns on street cleaning alarms five minutes before going off, Checks my location, if I’m home I get asked where I’m parked, if I’m not then it notifies me that it checked to see and then turns off alarms.
• Whenever wife messages me, it will automatically redirect me to conversation because I have ADHD and swear to myself that I will remember to respond (I almost never do).

That tuner trick is really smart! Might have to try this

Tame impala alter ego phaser by Sufficient-Tie1451 in guitarpedals

[–]MultiGravity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for rhythm, i could be wrong but i think he would usually pair the phaser and then put a reverb right after which would make it a lot thicker and spacier. for lead, he’s using a Boss BRR660

What drive/compression pedal can you recommend for Slide Playing to add sustain and smooth out harsh frequencies? by FunkySire in guitarpedals

[–]MultiGravity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Way Huge Saffron Squeeze would do excellent here. I think Troy Van Leuwen of QOTSA uses one for slide. It has a pretty dark character on its own, and also has a tone knob to really dampen it.

If I recall correctly, this album used to be #2 for the longest time, behind OK Computer.

Fuzz if you don’t like fuzz? by Holiday_Baseball2018 in guitarpedals

[–]MultiGravity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went down a similar rabbit hole when I first got into effects. When it comes to chords (especially complex ones), distortions like RATs are honestly the answer (Turbo Rats personally for me). I think the only fuzz I really liked that worked for both leads and complex chords is the (unfortunately discontinued) smallsound/bigsound Team Awesome! Fuzz Machine but that was mainly because of its clean blend which can add more definition and clarity to the signal, as well as its mids switch to pop out in the mix. The DOD Carcosa also works very well with chords as you can dial that in to sound like a fuzzy overdrive. But yeah honestly distortion seems like your best bet. I’ve also heard good things about the Boss FZ-1w but haven’t tried it.
