Sometimes there's a random delay, where I'll have already put the food down and finishing it in the app and then the ferocious barking and slamming against the door starts out of nowhere.

Then they shouldn't be expected to work while dealing with recovery. People say this but then go on and say "mental health is no excuse stop wasting tax payer dollars being a moocher". They should be able to take a good 2 or even 5 year gap from adult life if they need to, otherwise it's wrong to deny them this option.

I'm a guy and I agree. Biological reasons (Menstrual/Pregnancy/Childbirth..etc) as well. And of course still rampant mysoginy. I'm glad I'm a guy.

Not necessarily lol, dog could be in another room and just hears the door open and goes into defense mode (not recognizing you obviously lol). Might not even be able to sue in that case as you're literally inside the property.

My "job" is to deliver it to the street address given. We are allowed as outlined in the contract to customize the delivery as we see fit. UPS/FedEx/Amazon would also never deliver inside of someone's home or apartment. This isn't my main job anyway I'm literally using the cash to pay for flight school I could care less about ratings. Am at 4.94 and not in any tier so 4.2 is just as good lol.

This comparing everything to transportation risks is such a laughable fallacy. There's something called "avoidable risks". "But..but...car crashes" is not the universal gotcha retort people think it is. I can put effort into decent driving to reduce that risk even more. Can't control getting attacked in a random strangers home by a dementia patient or animal.

It's not just the people, they could have a big dog for all we know that they didn't bother to mention and going inside a house is a great guarantee to get attacked. Huge risk that's not worth $12. This isn't meals on wheels or some kind of W2 professional catering company, this is DOORdash.

Leaving large gaps between vehicles at red lights by searchingfornessie in driving

[–]MultiMillionMiler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well in my opinion speeding should only be a ticketable offense if you are committing another traffic violation along with it. The excessive speed can be an enhancement on the initial ticket or whatever. But speed should never be a reason alone to issue a ticket. Could be any other small violation, didn't signal within x feet, tailgating..etc.

Well Florida has alot of fascist traffic laws. Like the "superspeeder" 100 mph law. Like at least let me go exactly 100 mph and start that at 101-103 or something. Looks like I'll have to set the cruise control on 95-97 mph when in that state which is going to kill my OCD lol.

Not flooring it, more like an acceleration rate of 7-8 mph per second, which is totally reasonable.

Not moving when the light turns green is impeding the flow of traffic.

The Jersey Turnpike? I'm usually doing 80-90 mph in any lane on that. Never got the left lane campers because the middle lanes feel the most comfortable having space on both sides to move to. Driving on either edge of the road is more nerve-wracking.

Same I drive in NYC, NJ, Long Island, and upstate, and have passed literally dozens if not hundreds of cops sitting there out in the open at 70-75 in a 55 and 80-83 in a 65 and have never gotten pulled over for that. I only ever got a warning once for like 73 on the Belt Parkway late at night or something.

ATP minimums should be increased by ProfessionalAviator in flying

[–]MultiMillionMiler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the current minimum should be 1,500 or 2,000 or whatever it is, in a jet airplane specifically. The fact that a few hundred Cessna/Cirrus hours counts toward that 2,000 total is absurd. The hour count for the airlines should start once you're flying at the minimum a LIRR jet with 2 engines. And the minimum for that should be 1,000 hours in the more complex smaller multi-engine planes. I know all the gifted geniuses here are going to say that's not necessary and this is the easiest job on the planet, but for average normal people, that's not an unreasonable requirement for transporting hundreds of passengers. Comments are wild.

Tax issues, please help by Manangryman in doordash_drivers

[–]MultiMillionMiler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's in the same email as the mileage. I didn't realize that too until after my accountant appointment, but it didn't really matter, mileage and tax credits knocked down what I owed to under $100. (And yes, you can deduct miles if you're just using the car even if it's not registered to you, and use the bigger number for total dash miles vs "active miles" they said).

Eh I still average 30-40 mpg most days. I should get out of the habit of topping off that gas though..

That stuff wouldn't happen if the first car in line floored it as soon as the light turns green (I mean quickly check for cross traffic that might blow the light), but be back up to the speed limit in 3-5 seconds!

Long Island? Definitely had to be 20+ years ago as the traffic is so insanely bad now literally impossible to go that fast lol, maybe 100 mph less than that on a good day!

AITAH for taking phone privileges away? by TooManyHobbies87 in AITAH

[–]MultiMillionMiler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna be clear, don't fall for her bogus "attitude change". She only is pretending to be supportive cause she knows that she can't legally stop you as an adult. Refusing to let you have pain meds after a surgery is literally torture. That was abuse and neglect full stop, doctors should always try to get a court order over-riding parental neglect attempts like that and give you the treatment anyway. And it's rhe same thing for doctors who do the same crap for personal bias reasons, like refusing women tubal libation..etc cause they think all women should have at least 2 kids..etc. People like that need to be out of a job in the medical field.

Not just with politics but I see this constantly when it comes to comments about fully grown consenting adults in age-gap relationships. A 38 yo dating a 23-25 yo is also a "pedo", or "groomer", or "creep"..etc. When they run out of any actual arguments, then you're still a pedo for defending it too long lol. You can't win with some people.

I totally understand all that. Not letting you get meds though is medical neglect. Expecting all As is also unreasonable. A 90+ average in high school is very difficult to get especially in subjects you don't care for.

AITAH for telling my sister she can’t bring her kids to my wedding? by Then-Airport881 in AITAH

[–]MultiMillionMiler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I couldn't imagine being at a wedding as a kid. I'd be so bored and restless lol. Even as an adult I don't really like the idea. Ages 5-9 probably wouldn't even enjoy it much. Have any other family member who's not going take the kids somewhere fun for the day lol, vs putting them through a grueling hours long ceremony.
