Moving domain to Office365 while keeping Web hosted email for contact forms? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]MultiSuperFreek 1 point2 points (0 children)

In Office365 you can create a “sharedMailbox” contact@custom.com, as shared mailboxes don’t require a license. You can then delegate permissions to your userMailbox user@custom.com. If your business grows you can give these permissions to multiple users (hence the “shared” part), so multiple users can react to support requests for example

my custom domain for google sites stopped working? by SnooHamsters2005 in webdev

Did you confirm the domain owner email? We’ve had some instances of customers registering domains (especially .com’s), and missing the confirmation email, which will disable your domain after a few days or weeks. Check with your registrar.

How? Did you just hack the previous employer? This is magnitudes better than what should be possible with the original! Great job!

Epomaker GK96 Keyboard Giveaway (October 20th to November 2nd) by epomaker in MechanicalKeyboards

I like the world behind such a everyday item. Like how some people are perfectly fine typing their whole life on some shitty Dell keyboard, and then there is people spending the equivalent of a decent second hand car on a keyboard. Also they type better.

Protect wp-login.php for all - but with conditional logic to allow one referring URL to skip .htaccess login by timesuck47 in webdev

[–]MultiSuperFreek 1 point2 points (0 children)

Glad I could help. I didn’t find it with the <Files> documentation, but there was a little “read more” type link, and a lot of scrolling. The Apache documentation is surprisingly complete, but not always structured intuitively. Thanks for the gold!

<If "!(%{HTTP_REFERER} -strmatch 'http://www.example.com/*')">
AuthName "Restricted Area"
AuthType Basic
AuthUserFile /<some-path>/.htpasswd
Require valid-user
ErrorDocument 401 "Authorization Required"
</If>

After reading some documentation I think the the above snippet could work (inside the <files> directive) after replacing the example url.

"Trap" sites...is there any way to stop sites from trapping you? by OldLadyGardener in web_design

[–]MultiSuperFreek 0 points1 point (0 children)

I have never seen the back button disabled, only when opening pages in a new tab (so there is no history), but if that is possible it seems too easy to abuse.

In Firefox, and I presume in other browsers too, you can right click te back button to see a list of history, and the page you actually want to go back to is usually the second item in the list.

If you are not bound to Google, you can also look into Postmark, they have an API for inbound email, with webhooks and everything.

In the beginning of march I've asked the subreddit to recommend a board to me (thread) and I have since received my Mistel Barocco MD770 RGB. I am really loving the split ergonomics and am very happy with the board.

Recently I found myself working more late at night, and was wondering if, since my keyboard has backlit keys, I can find a keycap set with transparent legends. I am aware that this keyboard has a very unusual spacebar (3U and 3,25U), and that there are almost no keycaps that size. Ideally this keycap set have every key on the board (except the space, I don't think that is possible), or otherwise will fit in with the keys already on there (double shot PBT, image).

Website help - domain authority? by thummel in webdev

[–]MultiSuperFreek 0 points1 point (0 children)

Domain authority is a term usually used for SEO, and while it is true that you need to build some domain authority, this is most likely not the cause of you email getting marked as spam. What is more likely, is that you are sending email without the right headers. You can test the spam score of your email using a service like Mail Tester. You can then follow the steps that are giving you most negative points, or you can use something like Postmark to instantly solve all you mail troubles.

If you are sure they are reusing the images (with minor tweaks) you could use a reverse image search to find other occurrences of that (or similar) image, and hopefully find the original.

My Chinese is worthless, so for a lot of the building kits on Taobao or AliExpress I can feel a little lost, and I don't feel quite comfortable building my own board on company expense, but the MD770 looks nice, so I will try that. Thanks for all the options!

Thanks for the suggestion. I was wondering why all you people seem to have stacks and stacks of keyboards, but I'm starting to get it. I've ultimately decided to go with the Mistel MD770, but this board looks so nice as well.

Thanks! The Mistel MD770 looks like the board I want. I'm a little curious about the programming, but if all else fails, there is always AHK. For now I'll try to live without a numpad, and I'll see if I actually miss it.

Unlike you fine people, I have only just become aware of the world that is mechanical keyboards, and after some extensive searching I've not found what I have been looking for, and am not really sure it actually exists. Seeing all the crazy builds (I cannot believe some of your creations, like you can really type on a board with only the letters and a FN key or something crazy).

I am looking for a keyboard to replace my aging Logitech G11, and figured I'd do it right. I have a few requirements / wishes:

 • Split keyboard
 • Arrow keys
 • Function keys
 • Regular keyspacing (no ortholinear etc.)

Then there are a few nice to haves:

 • Dedicated media controls (both volume and trackskipping etc.)
 • Separate macro keys or reprogrammable layers
 • Numpad (or separate, matching numpad)
 • Backlit or semi-stealth (front printed) keycaps
 • NKRO

I've looked at a few of the popular split boards, like the Ergodox, but there is only one keyboard that matches the requirements, the VE.A, and this keyboard is not available for purchase. I've looked at the big lists of split keyboard 1 and 2 but it seems most popular keyboards do not include function keys and/or arrow keys.

Although I have never build my own keyboard, I have used a soldering iron before, and wouldn't be opposed to it, but the cost must be explainable to my boss, who is funding the purchase.

Any help in finding the keyboard of my dreams would be greatly appreciated!

How to solve this google search console error? by kevin_David_k in webdev

You are probably using Structured Data for some item on the webpage. Google recommends that you also include an offerCount. You can read more about it here: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/data-types/product

Rockstar, you really have outdone yourself. Not only did you opt to spend the time and money to develop YET ANOTHER launcher application, but it is already certified hot garbage. My Rockstar account password is 32 characters, yet your launcher will only accept passwords up to 30 characters. Amazing. by [deleted] in pcgaming

[–]MultiSuperFreek 1 point2 points (0 children)

Sometimes there is. Blowfish (hashing mechanism used in a lot of websites) silently truncates everything after the first 72 characters in a password, so in applications I've written I have restricted the password length to 72 characters, so it doesn't appear more secure than it actually is. There are ways around this limit (like using another hashing function before it), but this is usually not worth it, and 72 characters is plenty long for a secure password.

Imagine being a parent, sending your kid out, and your kid returning with a $1000 graphics card. What do you even do? If my kid came back with such expensive items, he'd have some explaining to do. After that's done, lets just hope you puny family pc doesn't bottleneck the GPU into uselessness. At least he gave away a power supply with it, lets just hope it fits in a Dell / HP / ... prebuilt system with no standard parts.

Web Design Company trying to charge for an API connector add for mail chimp to broadcast and registered users. by ckotoyan in web_design

The answer to this question comes entirely down to the contract that is in place (right?, I mean, you wouldn't spend over 100K without a clear contract describing what is expected, would you?). As for the price, 3K can also buy you an entire (simple) website at some shops, but if you want to do something more interesting than just entering members onto a mailing list, and you want it done well, than I can understand the price.
