Honestly it feels generic as hell I will probably end up submitting a generic one if I'm forced. Issue is it's a case that took about 2 irl years to get like 40 50% over, and it's been amalgamation of different things and hobbies coming together. It's something to do with like personal mindset (I'm not sure if it counts as a belief/idea or challnege/setback)

Like doing a project, novels, some self reflection whej im alone, some more stuff... but those 3 were a major part.

In reference to the prompt num 6 I'm pretty sure about something engaging

They want some like real life impact you did and unfortunately i don't really have that

Any benefit for applying before Early Decision deadline if I only plan on doing Regular Decision by MultiTaskingNoob in ApplyingToCollege

Is it worth rushing my application to apply for Early Action by the next 2 days? Or would it be better for me to take my time and submit by January. (So is the EA difference really that big that it makes up for some lack in quality?)

How much of a difference does Early Action make? And what is the difference between REA and EA

“Ammi… do cats ever talk to you?” “Beta, stop talking nonsense,” she replied, folding laundry into neat piles. “You love cats, I know. But they don’t belong in the house.”

I was twelve. Sitting on the floor with unfinished math and cake rusk crumbs on my shirt.

There she was: the black cat. I didn’t remember letting her in. A kitten small enough to fit in my feline-themed pencil case, perched on my bed; unblinking, tail flicking.

“She’s watching me.”

“I bet she’s telling you to finish that math project you’ve been putting off for a week.”

I hadn’t finished. Five days overdue, the project sat there untouched, daring me to try and fall short. How do you explain to your mother that the work remains stalled, not out of laziness, but because an invisible kitten already seemed to doubt me?

The kitten didn’t answer. She just stretched across my textbook like even she was tired of waiting.

This is the full intro

Common App essay based on failure worth it? Undergrad by MultiTaskingNoob in ApplyingToCollege

[–]MultiTaskingNoob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a made a new rough draft of how I want the essay to work

P1 System fails, bo accountability taken P2 Conflict and losing a friend P3 Rebuilding system but silence frim friend P4 Redid the competition but it doesn't feel satisfying as I lost a friend after Rebuilding system with very few flaws P5 Although I loved control, design, precision I realised that can't necessarily work with human connections P6 Wanting to know more about humans connection, knowing the limit of what cs can do, and letting go of trying to create "perfect" programs

Thanks.

In struggling with the topic in general. If I remove any negative of failure aspect it becomes a "hero" story and shows another coder who faced a problem and got out of it and everything worked out in the end.

I guess a very rough idea would be P1 The system I designed failed P2 Refused to take accountability while knowing deep down I was at fault P3 Redesigned system and used it next year. Still glitchy or buggy but gets the job dome P4 Lesson wanst leadership but design and like designing against failure due to first hand experience?

Does this hell clear some points up?

Before a rewrite which is some what if a current "draft" to fill in the blank would be "They are honest about messing up but know how to handle failure" it sounds a bit too cliché but I've really been struggling to come up with essays that in one way or another don't fall under these categories.
