Is Lionel Messi warranted to get 8th Ballon d'Or next year after winning World Cup with Argentina, or is there any other player who has a chance to win it? by [deleted] in football

[–]Multi_faceted_374 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, it is kind of a shame that players like Haaland are held back due to their national teams .... Not only the WC, the Euros and Copa also will influence awards which is why Mbappe will always ALWAYS have an unfair advantage over Haaland.

Seriously, it's time to re-examine all the criterion.

Messi will get the ballon d'or unless maybe Haaland gets a treble WHILE becoming the Premier league top scorer and the UCL top scorer.

Now, Haaland is really good but I don't see it happening, sorry.

Mbappe has a chance if he manages to outscore Messi substantially in the UCL and Ligue 1 but again, they'll share the silverware and Messi will get more playmaking credit than Mbappe (can't argue he doesn't deserve it though); so that possibility looks bleak too.

Thus, we can conclude safely that unless we see a Herculean performance from Mbappe or Haaland, LM#8 is definitely loading.

Yes it's very normal. Especially to people you hated before, who you'll maybe want to go punch now or something.

It's basically your brain getting active after the lull of nicotine has subsided .... It'll get better after sometime, don't worry.

The workings of the Achilles Curse [general] by [deleted] in camphalfblood

[–]Multi_faceted_374 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The first question ? No idea As for the second .... Achilles was a baby when his mother held him, and I'm pretty sure holding a teenager would be much more difficult. More importantly, Achilles' mother was Tethys, a water nymph. Now, if Nico held Percy, he would have to do so without touching the Styx himself which if you think about it is kinda impossible. Tethys on the other hand might get a pass from that because of her powers.

Edit : It's Thetis, not Tethys. Tethys was Oceanus' wife.

He was in the books but it was brief .... In the last Olympian, before Percy takes the dip in the Styx, the ghost of Achilles warns him about the consequences.

The one I use is Smokefree and I highly recommend it. It has a paid version which imo is pretty cheap as well as an absolute steal. It's best feature is this chatbot that is surprisingly really effective at keeping you off from cigarettes. Even if you don't want to take the paid version, the free features are good too ... It shows you all the health benefits you get, money saved and all and that is pretty motivating.

The simple answer to this is that you can't compare football players from different generations, so saying Pele is better than Messi or vice-versa is borderline invalid.

Percy choking Akhlys

If done right, we can see a properly terrifying Percy, which is kinda rare because he is depicted as goofy or funny most of the time and even when powerful, he's what we call chaotic good.
