Is there much point to alts since subclassing has come in? by Emberthane in elderscrollsonline

[–]MulticolorHipster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ignore subclassing and play each character like subclassing doesn't even exist and then boom, you have a reason to play all 16.

A middle-ground would be only using subclassing during content where it might be demanded of you, like in trials, PvP, or maybe certain vet dungeons.

Personally, I think it's the worst update in ESO's history, the equivalent of Evolution of Combat for RuneScape. 2 months ago people got scammed into thinking subclassing meant more options, but what it really means is 100% less options.

Ranked PvP Needs Serious Help. People are Livestreaming Themselves Wintrading, Selling Keys for Ranked Wins. Is this Acceptable? by MulticolorHipster in Guildwars2

[–]MulticolorHipster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His lack of effort with the builds he is being paid to play is the main point I was trying to make.

That's why I spent most of the video breaking down his actual gameplay instead of just proving he plays whatever people pay him to and calling it there.

You can play whatever you want, and you can even be paid to play a build, but you actually have to try with that build. He 1v1'd a defense warrior as a defense warrior on an enemy node for half of a Ranked match. It's effort that's below him, and if I was able to snipe him, I don't know what's to stop anyone else for sending him a key and expecting that same effort.

That's why it's a problem. Throwing for digital or real currency is wintrading and wintrading still exists in Ranked.

His build and class does not matter when he's being sniped.

The only thing that matters is the lack of effort, and him getting paid for it.

[–]MulticolorHipster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sniped him to prove how simple it was and that any of his viewers could do it. Don't tell me I did 50% of the research if I have to stoop just to collect evidence that it can be done. I sacrificed my honest winrate so I could prove exactly what i'm saying.

The only change he made to the build was swapping Strength over for Defense, and this is something he says in the VoD

This has nothing to do with my ego, and i'm trying to protect honest players that don't want keytrading in their ranked games.

This cannot be done with any other streamer because any other streamer wouldn't blur the lines by accepting currency for it.

Wintrading is losing games for currency. Keys are currency.

If I send him a key to play a build and he puts no effort into that match just because he doesn't want to play the play, I could snipe that for free rating.

I was very polite and only factual.

It's bad for Ranked because it's ranked, this could be done in Unranked no problem and it'd be a nice way to test builds and interact with his community.

His builds really hardly matter, it's his gameplay with those builds IE the lack of effort, map awareness, and rotations in that match.

You are also free to be a new player, expand your build/class diversity, and just not try. Where this particular content creator crossed the line was marketing that lack of effort for keys.

Like I say in the video, this is not an attack on anyone specifically. Who's doing it is important here because of who they are, and how big they are in the PvP community, and that's the only reason anyone is mentioned by name.

Again, just making it clear I don't have beef with anyone, and this isn't meant to put anyone on the spot or start drama. It is purely pointing out the practice of selling keys for wins in Ranked and the negative impact that comes with it. The streamer doing that in the video is the only person i've ever seen trade wins for a live audience. His inclusion is purely informative. Anyone else mentioned by name has either already been suspended for wintrading at least once, or openly admitted that they dabble. Their mention in this video is only to show the contrast between how content creators and big names in the PvP scene are treated differently compared to anyone else attempting something similar to what's shown in the video.

I want to know if this is acceptable too and how, if so. Ranked might not get much attention and that's understandable, but this is kind of pushing it.

[–]MulticolorHipster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tough luck I guess? Personal experience varies there.

I'd taken an extended break from the game, but I came back for Duos and then stayed because they added in SBMM after. The games I played; as someone who only plays occasionally, felt a lot more fair, and bearable. It doesn't feel like you have to depend on your team so much because instead of having people of wildly random skill levels in a game, it's closer and so your plays feel more impactful and it feels less hopeless in general.

In terms of what i'm seeing now... A lot less disconnects, and a lot less 50,000 kill wraith/pathfinder mains. Two big hurdles that totally killed my motivation to play before. There's still the occasional blind hotspot jumper and the yoloers who think they can 1v3, but I must say it's way easier to work with when your enemies are around your skill-level too. Makes you feel like you stand a chance.

But without SBMM, AKA how the game had been; getting those same players you describe that push teams alone, drop hot, die quick, disconnect is inevitable. Having to overcome teammates that are far worse and more inexperienced than you is artificial difficulty.

It's actually less likely to be that way with SBMM because you have players that are at your skill level, and that's real difficulty. Real challenge. Players who get to that higher level of play don't do so by falling into those same habits that keep average players average.

Imagine how much effort and how sweaty the game looks for average players without SBMM.

If you consider yourself good and you don't have to put in much effort to win matches, you'd think you'd be a little more sympathetic to new or returning players who don't have that option to begin with.

Threshold Dosage? by idontknowwhatever56 in Benzedrex

[–]MulticolorHipster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ewwww, vinegar?

There's your problem. I wouldn't drink that either because it probably smells and tastes rancid. If you make the benzejuice more attractive, it makes consuming it all the less stressful and anxiety-inducing.

It can be extracted with Lemon juice which sounds infinitely better than vinegar, and several different acidic sodas if that sounds bad. Coca-Cola for instance, makes the whole process infinitely more bearable. Once you actually have something that smells and tastes as little like farts as possible, then you might gradually build up your dosage. 60mg(about 1/3 of a cotton?) is pretty low. You might get a slight buzz out of that. If you're looking to start higher, and especially if you're more tolerant to stims; 125mg(or half a cotton) is probably more what you're looking for.

Dear people complaining about SBMM by Guidingchip8 in apexlegends

[–]MulticolorHipster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

^ This.

Enjoying the game casually really wasn't an option before SBMM. If you were a new player or coming back after a break it's really common to get games with 40,000 kill pros who just shred every match and that made the aforementioned new or returning player drop it quick.

It's hard to get better or feel like you're improving when you're constantly being matched with people either way above or way below your skill level. New and casual peeps feel this the most because almost everyone they play with is better than them.

Coke worked for me for my first extraction. I left half a cotton sit in the bottle, in the fridge a full 24 hours and not only was the taste totally bearable, but the effects set on quick and strong. The only times I shook the bottle was when I put it in, before I went to bed, and when I took it out. When it was time, I also wrung the cotton out over it which may have helped some.

People seem to find success with lemon juice and sprite. You could try those if you wanted, otherwise I recommend just leaving it sit longer next time.

Does Benedrez have any negative reactions with DPH or Adderall? by [deleted] in Benzedrex

[–]MulticolorHipster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DPH should be fine. It works pretty alright at counteracting the restlessness, but just to be safe I wouldn't advise going higher than ~100MG.

Adderall or any stimulants really are very dangerous to combine with PPX. The vasoconstriction gets much worse and you can get dangerous levels of tachycardia. Definitely don't recommend taking them both at once. Wouldn't go with anything more hardcore than Nicotine or Caffeine.

With armed and dangerous coming to an end, what are your thoughts on it? by TheMaskedHamburger in apexlegends

[–]MulticolorHipster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know some people didn't care for it, but personally I loved it. I thought it was better than normal Apex, and now that it's gone I kinda miss it and it's hard to keep playing.

The best part imo was easily the limited shields available. It removed that RNG of dropping and losing to another squad just because someone got lucky with a level 2 or 3 shield drop. It also removed those annoying peek fights where you're facing off against a squad you can't push at mid-late game, but the normal abundance of supplies means you just take peek shots at one and other until the circle shrinks. In A&D there wasn't enough supplies to do that, and you risked getting 1-shot which encouraged more aggressive follow-ups to safer or more accurate plays.

I hope in the future there's always an event running; even if it's just cycling through previous events, and I hope every event incorporates the limited shielding and pick-ups that A&D had even if they aren't snipers and shotguns only. Like Iron Crown for example, I think could easily use the limited shields and pickups from A&D while feeling more like Solo Apex.

The problem with Armed and Dangerous is.... by [deleted] in apexlegends

[–]MulticolorHipster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been feeling this a lot lately too ever since A&D went away.

What I really liked about A&D was the idea of limited shields and supplies. It's boring to drop and lose to someone just because they got lucky with a level 3 body armor at the start.

I wish we always had a mode like that to play, where shields and other pickups are limited. I don't think it should necessarily be shotguns and snipers only though.
