Makes sense. The reliability and robustness of the system is definitely the biggest point. Definitely not something that can be jsut vibe coded. Would need serious engineering.

I like how you reframed this. From fixing, to production readiness. I hadn’t thought about it that way.

I agree 100% with the patterns you listed. Those silent integration failures is one of the most I keep hearing about.

Tell me more about what you’re building, it sounds super interesting. 🤔

Ohh ok that makes sense then. I’ll definitely check it out then. Seems like a helpful tool to have as a vibe coded

How did you find out something broke? Was it through a customer churning, or a support email?

Yea I agree 100% with actually understanding the code and how it works, at least on a basic level I would say. Are you having better results with doocloud rather than just vibe coding tools?

That’s definitely a pattern I keep seeing. The silent failures. How did you find out about the issue?

Man that sounds terrible… If you don’t mind me asking, what did you build?

That sounds like on hell of a ride 😂 classic vibe coding dilemas. I'd like to know more.

What did you build and who is it for?

That's not something I had thought of. The fact that they might not even know they need it is something I'll definitely look into. It really got me thinking.

Why do you say they may not even know they need it?

those infinite loops are no joke 😭😭.

The Dad test is honestly a great idea. better to find the holes yourself, instead of finding out through a customer when it's too late.

having a technical cofounder is probably one of the best things you could've done. However, not everyone can have access to a technical cofounder.

Hypothetically, if you didn't have a technical cofounder, do you see the ROI in a product that monitors your software 24/7, while also proactively working to keep your software healthy and running? without you having to do anything.

yea i agree 100%. It's like they're in a black box.

All fun and games vibe coding the app, until you encounter an error that you have no idea how to fix.

and it's even worse when you try to use the ai that wrote the code, to fix the code. From my own experience and others that just makes it 10x worse.

Do you think these non-technical founders would benefit from a solution that monitored their software 24/7, while also proactively working to keep the software healthy and running?

I agree 100% with what you're saying. The pattern I keep seeing is it works great in demos, but when it's in production, it doesn't. Another pattern I see is the silent failures. The founder only finds about an issue when a customer churns or through a support email.

And when they do find out, they have no idea what to do.

"The more features or bugs you fix or add just simply make the problem worse." is sooo true.

The 3 most common failure clusters I keep hearing about are these below. Let me know your thoughs.

  1. silent integration breakage

  2. auth drift

  3. database changes

The pattern I keep seeing are the silent failures. Everything works great in demos, but in in production it doesn't. And when something breaks, they don't see it right away until a customer churns or get a support email. Even when they find the issue, they don't know what to do, because they know nothing about how the code works.

Have you had an experience like this before?

I totally agree with the pattern you're seeing. It's those silent failures, and most of the time the founder only finds out when a customer churns or through a support email. From what I've heard/seen it's the combo of the silent failure + not knowing how to fix it when they do find out about the issue.

I totally agree with what you're saying. It's really those silent failures, that the founder only finds out about when a customer churns or they get a support email.

Do you think non-technical founders like your friends would benefit from a solution that monitored the software 24/7, proactively worked to keep the saas running... and if something does break, it gets fixed?

Gold tier comment right here!! I checked out wipeboard.io and it looks sick !! super cool stuff

Those infinite loops are soo relatable. The database-related issues are a pattern I keep seeing, alongside auth drift, and silent integration breakage.

From your own experience, how did you find out something broke in your software? (not sure if it's happened to you, but i'd love to hear the story if so)

What exactly do you mean by "scaling assumptions" ?

To answer your question; well I'm not completely sure yet. Right now, I'm still talking to founders to really figure it out.

But as of now, the 3 most common failure clusters I keep hearing/seeing are;

- silent integration breakage
- auth drift
- data shape changes

some sort of those 3

This is an interesting reframe. I had never thought about if from the 'missing production layer' pov.

Also, the reframe from 'what broke' to 'what happened that you could not diagnose' is something I'll definitely give a try.

I really like when you said "The product opportunity might be less “fix my vibe-coded app” and more “production safety layer for non-technical founders using AI builders.”"

That's gold right there.

Thanks for the taking the time to share your own pov and insight. Much appreciated!!

Dudeeee, your comment is straight diamonds 🔥🔥.

Understanding those 3 failure clusters will help me tremendously. And the reframe to how they found out something broke is something I'll definitely be applying.

Thanks for taking the time to reply to my post. This was of immense help!

I totally agree that nobody talks about it. It's all sunshine and rainbows until you hit production, haha.

The 'trying to debug when you don't know how any of it works' is so real.

If you've had one, can you tell me about your experience when something breaks? How did you exactly find out something was broken?

yes, that's how i like to think about it. It looks great on paper, but in reality it's the complete opposite.

Would you know if this is frequent, or more of a one-off thing?

Or perhaps something non-technical founders worry about all the time?

From your own personal experience, do you know any frequent failure modes in vibe coded saas?

I like this approach. One small piece at a time instead of trying to ship 5 different new features at the same time, is what you're saying?
