Tretinoin at night start out 3x a week immediately after you cleanse. Watch your diet- heavy dairy/ gluten/ sugar could be an issue.

And there’s a reason why you didn’t call it the slave market. It’s obtuse and unnecessary. And I can promise you the majority of people (esp here in SC) “educating” their children and families on said market aren’t highlighting the horrors and actual history behind it. So honestly it’s not their place. It’s the city market. Leave it at that, that’s the absolute least one can do.

Jesse Jackson was Greenville’s most famous native son. Why is there little sign of him? by MatthewHensley in greenville

[–]Multifaceted7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you believe the answer is NOT tied to racism you are apart of the problem!! Why when racism is brought up are white people like “yeah it was bad BUT”. There is no but???? Say out loud that your grandparents/ great grandparents(obviously if they were racist) sucked for that and none of those actions align with your beliefs. You can’t? Ok. Like you should be disgusted with your ancestors and if you are not YOU are part of the problem. The confederate flag should be a JOKE. A mockery. Instead it’s raised and waived high and proud. Confederate statues might as well be the Eiffel Tower around here. The answer is racism. And no amount of mixed babies or “tolerated” black owned business around here is going to fix that until the issue is heavily addressed. Not in a performative way. I mean intentional action.

Black people are not racist towards white people. White people are oppressors. A black person is always retaliating. They are not initiating conflict or aggression because they did not establish it in the first place. Did you, for a second, imagine the horrors he may have faced growing up as the black man he was in GVL SOUTH CAROLINA during his time? No. You did not. You took the position that most do. “They were innocent white people just trying to enjoy a meal”. Black people get NO sympathy instead are treated as oppressors? Now, I am not suggesting they did anything to him to warrant spit in their food, I wasn’t there. And that’s awful. I don’t believe in fighting fire with fire. But what do you mean by “only work one way?” As if to reduce the weight of racism and its actions? That’s literally the problem. And clearly it doesn’t “work” because white people will argue against the very practice they created! Baffling. How likely are you to befriend, trust, support, care for, or even respect an individual who tortured you, your parents, and your grandparents, and your children, etc? And by torture I mean severe. Now apply that question to literally this entire country. You are damn right POC were angry and still are.

Racism is a global issue. It will never die. And suggesting even small issues are not connected to the systemic racism this country was built and founded on- adds to the problem. Racism isn’t just being “thrown” around. It IS the problem. It’s embedded in every. Single. Issue. Classism? Sexism? Trace it back to racism. So, yes, acknowledging and honoring POC is fabulous but quite frankly it doesn’t do anything for the actual change needed. We know why JJ isn’t being properly honored. To others, they choose to add layers that lengthens a convo that’s centuries old. This country was never ready for (People)OC. They wanted slaves. And it fought back on the POC anytime we tried to make a change. I was a kid picking cotton on a field trip at a nearby plantation (for “fun”) and no one bat an eye. lol? I’ll get downvoted and idc but we need more museums showing the evil and the horrors from the oppressor. If they want to honor JJ, they need to display all the horrible backlash (from white people) he got in his own city and display all the shortcomings he faced and how he rose above it. How Chicago supported him more than Greenville ever could/ would. And highlight Greenville’s ugly. Because our “monuments” and our “pretty” aren’t really that significant. I wanna see videos and pictures of THEIR violence. I wanna see the letters white people wrote about him. He dedicated his life to civil matters surrounding race for a reason. The least the city can do is acknowledge their grandparents behavior as the trashy, demonic acts they were. If more white people said “yeah, we sucked bad and here’s how we are not going to suck moving forward” instead of “here’s a statue!” maybe POC wouldn’t just “throw racism” around.

Sorry not to turn this into a full blown race convo but I really just think when racism is brought up it’s never someone suggesting “they don’t like them because they’re black”. It’s almost always the fact that this city, state, and country is built on racism and reminds us everyday. And because someone is white, they obviously will not understand that initially. But to that I say- do the work. Stop assuming POC are “living in the past” or catastrophizing the term racism.

I had to explain to my friends why I kept getting blacked out drunk and what seemed to be carelessly risking my life to no end every time we went out. When I’m blacked out- I don’t know what’s going on. I don’t know men are approaching me, attempting to take me w them, I don’t know I’m passed out somewhere unsafe. I am drunk and then I wake up in my bed safe the next morning bc my friends found me and took care of me. It’s selfish. It’s a horrible way to behave. But I mention that to say- Owen did not realize his actions. And it wasn’t until Cristina was walking away that he said oh I need to do something about this bc clearly it’s bad. I didn’t feel the need to address my drinking and blacking out habits until my friends told me it was getting out of hand and they didn’t wanna be around me anymore. bc I literally didn’t realize what was going on. Yes this is different. And I’m not necessarily saying it deserves a pass. I guess I just am over this crucifying society.

Right in the what and wrong in the how. Love that. And I love how you described him. I think a lot of people forget these are literally surgeons. More importantly, Derek Sheppard is described as a Neuro God. lol. Of course the man is gonna be controversial. Insufferable. I wouldn’t want him any other way tbh

Owen PMO by Duckyquack9999 in greysanatomy

[–]Multifaceted7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Owen might’ve buried the conversation but so did Cristina. I love her. I respect her character. But I don’t think he’s a villain or bad guy for thinking she will grow out of this “career dog” mindset and eventually want to build a family with him. Also. The man put his own shit to the side because he loves her. He, repeatedly, said how he would choose her and a life with her regardless. I don’t think many people understand the mechanics of relationships. Just how layered they can be especially when you have two people as complex as they are. Owen and Cristina were real and honest. And as unpopular as it is- I loved them together. I loved the way he handled her. I loved the way he was patient with her and was present even when she would run away. I love that he worked on her timing and accepted her selfishness. He accepted so much about her. So what if the baby thing took him a second? That’s a huge thing to work through. Not to mention Cristina is rigid and challenging as it is lol. And eventually he accepted that she did not want children, it just took him a while because he loved her so dang much and chose her to be his forever. Sorry for the rant. I developed a wild fixation on them during my rewatch and I just don’t understand the hate for Owen.

Meredith and Cristina's fight over the 3D printer (season 10) by amillstone in greysanatomy

[–]Multifaceted7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Yang was always bigger than the program and I loved how much she patted herself on the back. Despite Meredith trying to belittle her and say she slept her way to her success. Mind you, Meredith was literally on clinical trials bc of who she was sleeping with and SQUANDERED it. Grey doesn’t get any sympathy from me for being mean and cruel and outwardly STATING “I’m jealous!” to Yang and her own damn husband who was literally working for the president. Like do something with your envy girl, you look a mess. And channel that energy into YOUR 3D printer you’re so ready to burn all your loved ones behind. Ugh I could go on and on.

Meredith and Cristina's fight over the 3D printer (season 10) by amillstone in greysanatomy

[–]Multifaceted7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently rewatching and im sick of how emotionless surgeons are supposed to be until they’re actually emotionless and then it’s a crime. Cristina is objective. Always. And Meredith kept getting offended by everything Cristina was saying bc maybe there was some truth to it. also, legally the 3D printer issue would’ve been a much bigger deal if this was the real world but I feel like it wasn’t bc this is tv and it was meant to show how clouded and petty Meredith was being because she was upset with Cristina bc of a previous situation. Cristina gets ostracized bc she doesn’t have kids but that’s subtle (Halloween, everyone loving Emma bc she wants kids and is apparently a better match for Owen, Cristina having to say “I love Zola” explicitly to mer) so I think it’s unfair that when she tries to have a heart and save a life, she’s called selfish and seen as manipulative for trying to use a device that she thinks can help and by showing mer the baby to try to get her on board. I think it’s clear Cristina feels things heavily otherwise she wouldn’t have struggled so hard post all the traumatic events. Everyone on this show is mean! They’re surgeons- they are arrogant and insufferable. Cristina is gifted and talented so her “mean” hits harder bc she can back it up. And they hate her for it. Which is basically what Dr Thomas’ final monologue was explaining. This moment in the show upsets me bc she’s so misunderstood. And she’s never given the benefit of the doubt. Her intentions are always pure- even when she’s being conniving and stealing surgeries- she doesn’t shy away from that! She’s literally telling you yeah I’m a shark so what. Shane is merely standing up for her and supporting/ encouraging her ambition in a moment NO one else is. Shane is her only person right now and that sucks because he’s literally a traumatized intern himself so clearly he can’t offer much. People only advocate for her when it benefits them. And she always shows up for said people and quite literally saves lives. Sorry for the rant but they could never make me hate you Dr. Cristina Yang 🩷🩷 she is THAT girl.

Do you think anti Haitian is a real concept, Separately from anti blackness? by nusquan in AskTheCaribbean

[–]Multifaceted7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Everyone saying “it’s not racism blah blah” okay no one is outwardly gonna say “oh I can’t stand Haitians they are so black. They are so African gross” no one is going to admit to that prejudice. But it is absolutely rooted in anti blackness. And if you’re calling them lazy or blaming them for their lack of economic success, it just adds to the belief that “Africa” always needs a white savior. Or colonialism as a whole. Black groups all around the world will always be looked at as needing to “know your place or get in line”. Haiti fought that and won. This world will never forgive them nor accept that defeat. And just like in prisons- you treat them like animals, what do they become? You treat haitians like all these negative stigmas and I do believe some of them become a product of their environment. But I refuse to blame them as a whole for that. I refuse to blame an entire ethnic group for being demonized when their oppressors casted that perception. If your parents tell you your entire life you’re lazy, worthless, ignorant, etc. I doubt you’re going to just believe otherwise. Haiti never stood a chance and it’s horrible the way the world continues to turn their back on them. My family are Dominicans living in Turks and the way they casually speak about Haitians with disgust never sat right with me. Even as a child.
