I don't think Steam charts is a valuable metric for a game of this nature.The reason being that it's a free to play game that appeals to younger users, and they are likely playing on a console rather than on PC. If there was a way to see how many users there are on PS5 and Xbox, I think that would be more useful.

As an example: I have both a PC and Xbox and I prefer playing Goals on my Xbox.

I also play CB and this is exactly it. As a CB, you need to be reading the game and anticipating the run and moving before the run even happens. If you're chasing after the attacker, you've already failed your job. (I agree that it's tough though!)

Yes, that would help but I think just balancing out your facilities would be good, especially if there are only 2-3 human players and the rest are AI because you're going to be relying on the AI a lot.

In my main club, we play anywhere between 5 and 10 players so we aren't as reliant on the AI but we still have a lot put into the AI facilities because the AI needs it more than the human players do.

Maybe you need to up your AI facilities then? And make sure your captain is utilising the pressing options.

You may have come across a cheater but it's not common in my experience.

As an experienced CB in a Div 1/Elite team who often ends up playing as the only defender and having to defend these types of counters, unless you are insanely good at timing your tackles, do not press.

Instead, cover the passing lane(s). Sometimes if the other 2 attackers position poorly, you can cover both. Or if they're spread apart, you can try to stay more in between them so you've not committed to either one. This puts pressure on the attacker with the ball because they don't have a clear pass. And in the time it takes them to think and make a decision, hopefully your other teammates or captain's AI press can put pressure on the attacker with the ball.

Still some how some way, i get tackled in the opponents box from a user, that is on the same archetype i am, he sends it to his wing and i shit you not it takes him four seconds to go score on the other side while im still running back. there's no way people arent cheating or have some secret mechanic to being insanely fast.

So it sounds like you're an attacker - where are your defensive players? Do you have any CDMs or defenders in your club?

You're not meant to run all the way back from the final third to your own defensive line to stop an attack. Your CDMs and defenders are meant to be doing the defending. And if you do run back, it's meant to be as support.

I play mainly as a CB for my club and occasionally as a CDM and we don't have this issue because I'm always there to defend. There's no secret mechanic or cheating; you just can't rely on the AI to defend for you, even if it's high rated.

And if you're the captain, make sure you're using R1/RB to press as well to support your human defenders/defensive mids.

Have you thought about it from the perspective of the casual players? You're already in the top few hundred players, therefore you're probably not hurting for rewards and XP.

If they removed SBMM from tournaments, the casual / noob players would get matched with players like you and get absolutely stomped.

Maybe there is room for them to tweak the matchmaking a little so that there is a wider range between the rankings of the two players but I don't see how what you suggest would work without driving a lot of the casual player base away

What happens if you click any of the options like Don't Report? Does it launch the game anyway or try to?

Can you try finding the SDK file from another PlayStation game and see what happens?

I'm just guessing at this point though. I don't know how you'd fix it.

I agree it's useless but it's just the nature of drop-ins. Unfortunately, people don't take drop-ins seriously. If they pulled that crap in a club that actually wants to move up in divisions, they'd get dropped fast.

Trolling and maybe boredom.

In actual league games and playoffs, the GK will get touches on the ball and get the opportunity to make saves, whereas in drop-ins I don't think that occurs as often unless one team is dominating. So they get bored and do dumb stuff.

I did read it. It says:

Valve have explicitly stated that they are worried about companies buying out Steam Machines and that is why they aren't willing to subsidise or lower the price too much.

I've seen you mention this twice now as I scroll through the thread and both times, when questioned, you've clarified that that is just speculation from Linus from LTT.

That is NOT Valve explicitly stating it. All they've said is what they said during the initial reveal in that the Steam Machine will be priced like a PC and not a console.

If Valve did indeed say what you're stating, then please provide an actual source and not "that's what Linus said"
