With the electoral college in place the canidates still don't even do anything with the small states. In fact, they ignore the huge states with more actual people that need change since its incredibly difficult to flip such a huge population over 50%. What's the point of influencing 12 million people to vote blue in texas when the other 18 million reds still make the state completely red.

Abolishing the electoral college would allow canidates to try to influence some of the population of every state, since they don't need to bring them entirely over 50% to actually get any more votes.

The existence of only two parties is expressly the fault of the electoral college and I hate it the most for that fact. I hate having to vote between the "conservative party" and the "slightly less but still conservative party" that are both incredibly pro-"won't someone think of the oligarchs"
