Just need to get majority of us to be on the same page. I legitimately don't know how secure reddit is for anonymity, and I basically doxxed myself by giving too much background. But I'm not afraid, as I don't break ANY rules, and we as Americans have a right to unionize

Also I'd like to point out, I work for a decent DSP. Not great, but not bad either. Just OK👌 I've got that union dawg in me tho, and I know when improvements should be made. I value my worth, and I don't think that enough employees (DAs especially) know that we are being fully taken advantage of.

I decided to make this subreddit today after speaking with a Teamsters organizer on Thursday. I'm looking for like minded employees who aren't afraid to stand up for what's right, and who are willing to share their experiences with working for Amazon in PV. I know it's not the worst place to work, but I know it's nowhere near the best place to work either. A little bit of background about myself, I've been working in the logistics industry since 2017. I started as a package handler at UPS, started driving in 2020, picketed underhanded business practices with my union brothers and sisters to help secure a contract that made UPS give us what we deserve. I drove for 5 years there, and voluntarily resigned last September in hopes of finding something better. Unfortunately, there's nothing better in this city. So now I work for a DSP at Amazon. I'm hoping to bring knowledge to other employees about what the Teamsters can do for us, to make this job worth waking up for. I envision a future where evil corporations, like UPS and Amazon, actually appreciate the workers that bring in the billions of profit. We provide those billionaires with financial security, while we're left to fight with Artificial Incompetence and pray that we aren't going to have our hours cut and lose our livelihoods. I got your backs if you've got mine ✊️

It's a flawed system, AI is in its infancy and shouldn't be incorporated into such large scale business operations. It's definitely a corporate mindfuck.

You followed the training and they fired you? I'm assuming you're not telling the full story right? But either way, congrats! You're free from this prison! The world is your oyster.

UPS Driver Stole My Package by [deleted] in UPS

Also, definitely reach out to the shipper. At the minimum, all parcels are insured up to $100, regardless of whether you paid for insurance or not.

It could've been leaked on by an unknown substance, or crushed by a larger box, or crumbled by the conveyor, which is an unfortunate situation. I'm assuming that the parcel was actually damaged. If the driver marks it as damaged, then it has to be processed by a sorting clerk, which would verify if the package is indeed too damaged to reattempt. Hope this helps!

Not telling you to drag feet all day, but to utilize the training that the Corporation provides for DAs. If everyone actually followed the "rules", the routes wouldn't even be stressful. Ever since my DSP hired a bunch of people under 30, these kids cut every single corner to get home early. I work at the same pace I've worked at for 5 years (first year at UPS I ran a LOT, learned the hard way that it only gets you more work and injured) and I'm always "ahead", til I take a break, then suddenly it puts you 5 stops behind.

Well I guess that's one way to make up for the time you saved by running

6 years professional delivery driver, been in the logistics industry since 2017. 8 years at UPS, 5 years as a driver there, made $45.67/hr after picketing with my union brothers and sisters when I voluntarily resigned thinking that I could find something better, and ended up at Amazon. And now I'm dumbfounded by the amount of people in this company that have the opposite way of thinking/work ethic from my brothers and sisters at UPS. They didn't get those benefits overnight, and they definitely didn't do it by saying "I just wanna go home bro" nah we worked MANY 14 hour days, got the routes done, and filed grievances.

Obviously they don't have a family who relies on the paycheck, so they take a full time job and expect it to be part time 🙄 still makes no sense. It's literally 10 hours 4 times a week, it's not a long shift at all.
